High School Musical: The Musical: The Series 4X5: Admissions

I was a little disappointed with this episode. Mostly because we are so close to the end right now, that I really want everyone together. But we're all so spread out right now. However, we did get E.J., which was fun. And Ricky and Gina fixed things, so that's good too.

So, after the Gina debacle, Ricky heads over to hang out with E.J. at college. This kid is working 4 jobs to try to make things work as his dad wasn't impressed enough by the documentary to help him out. Totally fucked up. Also, I 100% got confused about E.J. being Troy in HSM3 and was wondering how Ricky managed to get to UC Berkley so quickly. 😳 Anyway, E.J. gives him some advice and Ricky decides to stop running away from things.

He heads back home to talk to Gina about it, but when he gets to the house, he sees that she's in there with Mack. And he runs away. However, he only gets halfway across the street before she comes running out after him. She tells him she told her mom about them, and they kiss in the rain. It's pretty delightful.

But, I'm still kind of annoyed at Gina. Apparently, for some ridiculous reason, the principal has decided if Jenn doesn't get 8 people from the drama club to show up for rehearsal tonight, he's cancelling the musical. Gina overhears this and cons the director into shooting super quickly so she can make it to the rehearsal. They wrap up with 15 minutes to spare, but she lets her mom and Mack talk her into going home for dinner. Gina. You did all this so you could make it to rehearsal, and you just don't go? What are you doing?

Red is back for the episode, he's got some family party to go to. And he drops a bombshell on all of us (well, me, and Ashlyn at least). He's the one that Seb cheated on Carlos with. What the actual fuck. First of all, who wants to run around kissing Red? (I've also told Ashlyn that she was too good for him. He's such a dork). I hate this so much. I mean, I like that he and Ashlyn had a mutual break up. But fuck him. And fuck Seb (But much less, since I actually really like Seb. Lol). Poor Carlos.

And speaking of Carlos, when Red finally tells him later on, he's so mature about it. I don't think that anyone in real life would be that way. He basically tells Red that he loves him, but he cannot be around him right now. As if Carlos wasn't already suffering enough. I just want to give this kid a hug.

At the end of the episode, the principal comes to check on participants for the musical, and it's just Jenn and Emmy in the room and he shuts down the show. Why does he care? I get he's the principal, so this probably falls under his purview, but it's one rehearsal. How does that get the show shut down?

Oh, and Kourtney went to visit a non Ivy league school and ended up pretty happy and impressed by it. I'm not sure if she's actually going to go, but it's nice that she's open to other things now.
