Greetings Deathlings!
I'll be honest, before this video I'd never thought a lot about Rhode Island.
I've never had anything against Rhode Island. I've enjoyed meeting people from Rhode Island, I have friends who went to Brown, I've heard of this thing called "coffee milk" that sounds like a treat – but up until recently I hadn't really spent time in Rhode Island.
I gotta say, I was pretty charmed.
Not only did we all find Providence downright lovely – charming neighborhoods, fantastic food! – but driving around visiting the area's numerous historic cemeteries was a near perfect way to spend a couple of rainy days.
Nothing gives this old gal a thrill like tromping through overgrown grass on the side of a rural road or searching a seemingly mundane planned community with a name like PARK RIDGE (not the real name) to look for OLD GRAVES. Better yet, VAMPIRE GRAVES.
On one such jaunt I was looking for the entrance to an historic cemetery – almost in someone's "Park Ridge" backyard – when what appeared to be a concerned resident understandably slowed down and made it clear that they HAD THEIR EYES ON ME as I stumbled around looking for the "clearly marked path" the Internet described. As we got footage in the little cemetery, I wondered if (appropriately) a mob of Home Owner's Association members would descend upon us and demand to know about our vampire shenanigans.
Just like in Mercy Brown's day.
So we hope you enjoy the fruits of our efforts. Going on location is always fun, but going on VAMPIRE HUNTING WEEKEND was something baby YouTube Caitlin would never have dreamed of.
Thank you for supporting our shenanigans!
Caitlin
*A quick, but important clarification: If you clicked on this post from your email, the subject probably read, "Caitlin Doughty's new patron-only video". This is not a patron-only video; this is a video that was released to the public. When we release patron-only videos we will explicitly state in the video info and in the video post that it is a "Patron Exclusive" video. Patreon recently changed the way Patrons-only video posts (i.e. these nifty messages that are delivered to your inbox) are released via email – automatically adding that "patron-only video" line to the subject, even if that's not the case. But that's not how we (and a lot of other creators) do things. So, sorry for the confusion! I hope this cleared things up! We're working on fixing this with Patreon.
