Have any of you ever heard of Eugene?
If you haven't, OH BOY are you in for a story.
This segment was originally part of a larger story, however the entire video wasn't really that top shelf-chef's kiss content we are striving for. So we had to scrap it. People are often surprised by how much of our video work is spend "killing our darlings" and this video was no exception. But we didn't want to totally lose this Eugene story.
It's one of those local stories that people can get lulled into easily accepting, get numbed to, when if you take one second to really consider the humanity (and inhumanity) in it, it's quite disturbing.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video. Enjoy seems like the wrong word. I hope you find it engaging and thought-provoking.
Oh! And since many of you have asked:
Yes we do captioning for all our videos. However, there is a little bit of a delay in when they publish to new videos (we use an outside company, we find them more accurate than YouTube). Captions usually appear within anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours after a video is released. Apologies for the wait, we know it's not ideal.

My terrible aunt could definitely find a way to argue with it if she watched a story on Fox News telling her it wasn't as bad as people were making it out to be and Eugene definitely did something bad that led to his death.

2024-08-28 03:05:00 +0000 UTC👻The people who kept Eugene unburied were weird. The people who misused and disrespected his body were weird. Sorry, I have no other analysis of them and their actions. Other than they're just plain weird. 👻 Unfortunately, racism against blacks still exists. For this poor man's dead body to be used the way it was is atrocious. 👻It makes us white people look pretty terrible. Disrespectful. Money grubbers. Low IQ. Not very smart. 👻Glad Eugene was finally buried. It's sad that he was never formally ID-ed.
