So, most of my questions were answered in this episode. I also cry quite a bit. Sorry about that. Lol. Also, we are officially doing S8!
Okay, so Emiko continues to try to destroy the city. (What is it with villains hating on Star City, seriously?) They (with the help of Curtis, Ben and Laurel) manage to defuse the first wave of attack. Well, sort of. We lose some people, but it could have been so much worse. And it will be if Emiko gets her way.
She and the Ninth Circle have some giant bombs set to explode Queen Consolidated. Oliver and Co show up and fight off a bunch of Ninth Circle people. However, it turns out, the Ninth Circle is turning on Emiko. They think her vendetta against the Queens is affecting her ability to destroy the city as planned. (Haven't we learned already that vengeance is never the answer?) So, one of the members stabs her in the gut. And, since the building is about to blow, everyone evacuates.
On her death bed, Emiko apologizes to Oliver. I hate this. I don't want any redemption for her. But, since Oliver stayed when he could have left (you don't leave family) now she likes him? Either way, she tells Oliver that she and Ninth Circle made sure that his family would be destroyed so he needs to take Felicity and baby and get somewhere safe. She dies, the building explodes, and Oliver arrows away.
Back in the bunker, after we've saved the city for the zillionth time, Oliver and Felicity tell the team that they are stepping away for a little while. They don't tell them it's because of what Emiko said (but they also don't know Felicity is pregnant, so π€·ββοΈ) but just that they feel like things are stable now.
John sets them up in a house that's in a neighborhood of ex ARGUS and ex military, so they should be okay. And they seem happy. And calm. And content. So you know something bad is about to happen. Shortly after Felicity gives birth, the dude from the crossover episode shows up and tells Oliver it's time to hold up his end of the bargain. Apparently, he promised to do whatever to save Barry and Kara, and this is 'whatever.' He's going on some mission that he's certain to die on, but he's going anyway.
He and Felicity say good bye (I hate this. So many tears) and she promises to keep the kids safe and that they'll see each other again somehow. Then Oliver just leaves with this dude. I hate it. Why can't we ever give these two happiness?
In the flash forward, the kids are able to bring down the wall around the Glades (which I'm pretty sure has the Archer system built into it). So success! However, Felicity, John, Rene, Dinah, and Roy know they have to go into hiding now. But, they are confident that the kids can handle things. I wonder if S8 is going to be mostly about the kids rebuilding the city?
Felicity takes William and Mia to Oliver's grave and says her good byes. Neither are happy about it, but she assures them that they are both capable of living without her. Then, she meets up with the dude to go reunite with Oliver, who is dead. So, I have no idea where they are actually going. But he makes it very clear that she can never return, but she's going to see Oliver again, so she's cool with that.
I don't know what S8 is going to be. I'm wondering if it's going to be mostly the kids, with some bits of whatever is going on with Oliver and Felicity? I don't know. We did make that Mark of Four, so I assume we'll use it get together and help each other occasionally, right? Except Oliver and Felicity probably won't be able to get out of wherever they are to help. Hmmmm.
