Hart of Dixie 1X9: The Pirate & the Practice

Okay, so instead of celebrating Thanksgiving, Blue Bell got this Planksgiving tradition where we do a big fish fry in the town square. I could totally get behind that. I don't like turkey and I love fish. But, I also love all the Thanksgiving sides, which I imagine are missing from our pirate themed holiday.

Anyway, Zoe managed to get her 30% just by the skin of her teeth. She's about to head home for the holiday, when Brick hears the devastating news. He can't fathom how she did it until Zoe walks in, looking like Zoe. He hurries to tell one of the guy's wives that Zoe is his new doctor and she promptly sends him (and his brothers) all back to Brick. So now Zoe is running around trying to find 3 new patients in the hours before she has to board a plane.

She drags as many people as she knows into the office to 'treat' them, but she's still one person short. Eventually, a boy comes in who's itchy. Zoe can't find any obvious cause, but he's a young boy and she just assumes he's allergic to something. She gives him an antihistamine and sends him on his way. Last patient acquired. Until they come back to see Brick, upset at her diagnosis, and he's Brick's patient now. But, it turns out, he can't find anything wrong with him either. Zoe sends in the mayor and Addy to try to gather as much info as they can, so she can figure it out before Brick.

And eventually, she does. This kid somehow managed to get the bends. He borrowed his older brother's scuba equipment and was busy looking for buried treasure so his parents wouldn't have to sell their hardware store and move away. (You know, everyone is buying from Big Box Stores and the internet now). In order to save the family, George and Brick work all night to make sure he get agreements from the town to stay in business. And Zoe buries some treasure and makes a map for the kid. He finds it and it's full of cash. It looks like Zoe has finally taken the first steps to actually being included. She's tried before, but it's never worked out like she'd hoped, but this time, we may have actually made some headway.

Meanwhile, George's parents are in making his and Butter Bitch's lives miserable. His dad is desperate for him to come join the family practice in Mobile since his brother resigned to go run for senator (or something). Lemon is horrified. She can't imagine spending that much time with a woman who hates (And, God, does George's mother hate her. I mean, I do too, but she's not my daughter-in-law).

But, his mom spends the whole day buttering her up and apologizing for how she's treated her. And George's dad spends his dad doing the same to George. By the end of the day, they both decide George should do this. However, shortly after, Lemon runs into his parents in the grocery stores and overhears them talking about how easy it was to manipulate them into him taking the job. And his mom is mocking how badly Lemon wants her to like her. It's pretty gross.

So Lemon decides to lay it on as thick as possible. Calling her mama constantly. Talking about how she's going to spend every second with them when they get to Mobile. How they are going to move into the house with them. Eventually, they crack. And then we find out that the dad only wanted to hire George because he thought it would help the community buy shit from his store or something. I hate these people.

Oh, and Wade definitely has a thing for Zoe. And the mayor is trying to help him act on it. Hasn't happened yet, but we'll see.
