The Fosters 1X21: Adoption Day

I should have been smart enough to realize that this would not all go as planned. It's only S1.

So, after Mike finds out that Dani gave Brandon the money to pay off Ana, they get into a fight and he kicks her out (even though I don't think she was actually living there). He tells Brandon that he's never been so disappointed in him.

I guess Brandon takes that to heart. He uses his fake ID to buy himself some beer and drown himself in chips. Dani shows up (didn't she hear Mike when he told her to get out?) and knowing that Brandon has an audition the following day for a symphony, helps him to bed. He's upset because Callie is over him. And Dani ends up under her. No, seriously. He just had sex with his dad's girlfriend. Does she not know he's a minor? What is this?

In the morning, Brandon wakes up alone. Literally. Dani is gone, but also Mike never came home. With no idea what to do, he calls Dani and he leaves a message for her. Eventually, she gets back to him and tells him she found him drunk, took him home, and is letting him sleep it off. However, when we see that seen, it turns out Mike is still so drunk he can't stand up, and his hands are covered in blood.

At adoption day, it turns out that Donald isn't actually Callie's father. When they get the original copy of her birth certificate, they find out that someone named Steven (?) Quinn is her actual father. And since he still has rights, the can't adopt Callie today. But all is good with Jude and he goes through with the adoption. Callie tries to put on a brave face for Jude, but it's obvious she's hurting.

Earlier in the day, Lena gets Stef to admit that she doesn't actually want to have a baby. (Which I feel like we all knew already.) Unfortunately, for them, they've already done the IUI (at least I think that's what they did) and Timothy is refusing to sign the paperwork to sign away his rights. Stef says they should just hope that they're not pregnant. However, not long afterward, Lena tells Stef she got her period so she doesn't need to worry about it.

But when they meet at the courthouse for the adoption, Lena tells her that she thinks Stef was right. The have very chaotic lives and it would be very hard to have a baby right now. And then she follows this up with 'I stopped by the clinic on the way home, and I'm pregnant.' For whatever reason, Stef is now thrilled about this. She's so excited and ready for this new baby. So I guess we're raising this baby with Timothy now?

After the adoption, everyone goes back to the house to celebrate. Callie is outside playing guitar and Brandon comes out to talk to her. She asks about his audition and it turns out, he got it! Then he says he's gonna head back to Mike's and pick up the rest of his stuff (oh, yeah, after the stunt he pulled, Stef is making him come back home).

But, when he gets there, Vico and some of his goons are waiting for him, pissed that Vico's dad made him quit the wrestling team. And to pay him back, they decide to beat the hell out of him, and slam his hand in a car door. So much for his piano playing. Sigh.

Also, Zac's mom is way worse (she burned his face with an iron) and Zac can't keep taking care of her, so he's heading off to live with him dad in Arizona. Plus, I think Callie and Wyatt are back together.

Comments

loved this episode hated that my girl Callie couldn't also get adopted becuase it's everything she ever wanted but I was happy that atleast Jude was still able to get adopted. Love that despite the fact that she wasn't gonna get adopted today she made sure atleast her brother was and how she encouraged him and just love how she is always putting him first and how much she loves and cares for him. Also love the fact that Jude felt confortable enough to talk to Lena about his sexuality and just shows how loving and caring Lena is that she was able to create that safe space for him. Hate, hate, hate Dani. She needs to be locked up for praying on a drunk teenager who is still a child and sexually assaulting him after praying on him. Fuck her. Iknew she was trouble from the start and that she had alterior motives. And btw yes she knew he was a child and still decided to sleep with him, she is a monster who doesn't deserve any sort of sympathy. Also that ending is mental cause do they think that literally physically assualting Brandon won't get them into any sort of trouble just because their parents have connections. And now Brandon won't be able to play piano anymore because of that piece of shit. It's soo messed up how priveledge and having connections can allow people to get away with horrible things. I just feel soo horrible for Brandon because he got sexually and physically assaulted in the same episode it's sooo messed up. I'm really glad that Jesus is back on his ADHD meds because he was really starting to change and not for the better. Love how Marianna helped Zac out with his mum despite knowing that if she did he would have to go live with his dad in Arizona because she knew it was the right thing to do because Zac's mum did need to be in a care home where should could recieve care she needs from medical professionals who can help her with her Alzheimer's and not just her son who is just a child.
