Sons of Anarchy 5X8: Ablation

So, turns out, the kids are just fine. As it Gemma. Which is a little disappointing. I mean, I didn't want them to die, but we didn't really get a lot of drama out of it for how dramatically we ended the last episode.

Anyway, Tara has to cut her cooking time short to go help the boys transport the dead guy up to the cabin. Jax cuts off both his hands. He sends one to Unser and one to Pope to identify him. He's basically nobody. They track down the one that got away in the van and he's nobody as well. They were both just hired to do the hit by Frankie- the only nomad who is still alive.

But, while we're at the cabin chopping up the dead guy, Tara gets the call about the accident and we rush to the hospital. Both Jax and Tara (rightfully so) immediately assume that Gemma was drunk or high and crashed the car. So when he ask her what happened, Clay jumps in and says it was the same guys who tried to run Jax off the road. They are now overly apologetic and Tara is all 'I'm so happy it was you driving, you kept my babies safe.' I was so ready to fight a bitch. When I thought she was gonna get away with this, I was losing my damn mind.

However, Nero shows up and afterwards and tells Gemma that she really should just tell the truth. it's gonna come out anyway and it'll be better if she gets ahead of it. And then Clay shows up and tells Nero (out of earshot of Gemma) that whatever was going on with his wife, is over now. Nero tells him they should let Gemma decide who she wants. Why the hell does Nero want her anyway? She's a hot fucking mess who is constantly dragging him into other messes.

Later, Jax gets a call and when he Chibs, and Bobby show up to the new porn studio, they find Nero tied up and Frankie with a gun in Lyla's mouth. He's pissed because he did all the home invasion stuff for Clay, but Clay isn't at the table, so he's not getting any money. He also says he didn't run Gemma off the road. He demands $200,000. Jax doesn't have it, but Nero offers him his money.

Once he gets it, he insists that Chibs drive him away, he shoots Lyla in the leg (I assume to distract them) and takes off. He has Chibs drive him to another car which is picking him up, then knocks him out and leaves him bleeding and unconscious. I swear if Chibs dies I'm gonna be so fucking pissed.

Back at the hospital, Jax makes Gemma tell him the truth about the accident and she comes clean. Tara punches her and tells her she's completely cut off. Jax seems fine to back her up on that.

Then he tells Tara about Clay and that he's got to get direct evidence and bring it to the club. Then they can vote him out and kill him. But, in order to do that he needs to make Gemma get back in good with Clay. When he mentions it to Gemma she doesn't want to, but Jax tells her it's the only way to get her family back. So, we'll be getting double agent Gemma now I assume
