The Fosters 1X10: I Do

Okay, so maybe I was way off base when I thought they were going to get rid of Jude.

So, it's several weeks later and the week of Lena and Stef's wedding. And it's kind of going terribly. Stef keeps making all these passive aggressive statements about how weddings are BS. How Lena didn't end up smacking her is beyond me. The only thing about the wedding she seems to care about is that she wears pants. She didn't even plan to have vows. It's not surprising when Lena finally blows up at her and tells her they shouldn't even get married.

After that, Stef heads over to her dad's house (who wasn't planning to come to the wedding, but sort of get bullied into it by Stef's mom- I assume they are divorced) and tells him he's the reason she's acting like this. His voice in the back of her head telling her two women shouldn't get married. And she hates it. She tells him either get on board for real, or don't shows up. Then she goes back home, and she and Lena make up.

But, before we get to the wedding, lets back up. We start with Callie being told that basically, it's her word against Liam's and no one is going to believe her because of her past. But, if she lies and says the sex was consensual, they could probably get him on statutory rape and put him away for a year or so. How fucking fucked up is this? He can rape her and get off free, or she can lie and say she agreed to have sex with him and he still only goes away for a year. Fuck this.

And, literally, up until she's on the stand, it doesn't seem like she's made a decision. But when she's finally asked if it was consensual, she tells the truth true and calls him out as a rapist. I mean, he looks guilty as hell the entire time. There was zero chance the judge didn't think he did it. But, either way, he goes free.

Stef and Lena feel so awful for her. They wonder if they should skip the wedding, but Callie says she could use the distraction. Shortly after that, they sit Callie and Jude down and ask them if they'd like to be adopted. They talked it over with the other kids, and they really just want them to have a safe, permanent house. Jude is thrilled. Not that Callie isn't, but this is all Jude has wanted since, like, the day they showed up.

Afterwards, Callie pulls Brandon aside to thank him showing her that she was deserving of justice (he talked her into telling the truth), and he started to wax poetic about how great she is. And then the two of them start making out in this alley way. She looks super into it. Not like when she was kissing Wyatt. And they both seem so happy. But, Jude happens to catch them and is livid. He's upset that they are not going to get adopted now. And calls Callie out for being selfish. They are a package deal so if she screws up, he has to pay the consequence.

During the wedding, which actually ends up being pretty nice, Callie apologizes to Jude and tells him it'll never happen again. And she will make sure that nothing bad happens to him because of her. Her solution for this? Run away in the middle of the night and have Wyatt bring her to some state in the middle of the country (I forget which one).

Also, Mike finds out the truth about the shooting. Ana is claiming that when Mike shot her boyfriend, he had his hands up in surrender. Stef tells him that he wasn't actually holding the gun, but his hands were not up. And she tells him that given the situation he walked in on, he made the right call. But, she's going to change her story to the truth, as she lied for him. He's shocked and flat out refuses to let her. I mean, if we're blaming Callie for all of her past sins, can't we do the same with Ana? Wouldn't they take Stef and Mike's word over hers?
