Tell Me Lies 2X7: I'm Not Drowning Fast Enough

Okay, so forgive me in advance. I just watched this episode and following one back to back, and now I'm mixing up what happened in each episode. Oops.

Okay, so it seems like Stephen is reevaluating his relationship with Lucy. It doesn't help that since Diana isn't talking to her dad and he cut her off, she's not really useful to him anymore. He ends up asking Diana if she really knows him and what if he's a bad person. She assures him he's not. But that's not good enough for him. He tells her he has to leave.

And where does he go? To Lucy. And when he asks her if he's a bad person, she immediately tells him that he is. He tells her that they are both bad people and that's why they can't make a relationship work with anyone else. He loves her and she loves him.

In happier news, it seems like maybe Pippa and Wrigley could get back together. She was finally able to trust again after being assaulted by Chris. And Wrigley tells her not to fake it. And she is actually able to instruct him as to what she wants and needs. I'm not sure where this will go from here, but in this moment, I am happy for Pippa.

Meanwhile, during the holiday party thrown by Marianne and Oliver, Bree ends up in the laundry room bent over a dryer. At first, she's cool with this, but then the reality of the situation seems to creep in. There are a bunch of people right outside the door, she surrounded by his wife's things. She tells. him to hurry up and then kind of freaks out. Especially, after Oliver hand her some of Marianne's negligee to clean herself up with.

She starts to spiral into panic and he ends up tells her he loves her, which immediately calms her down. She says she loves him too. He slips out and she drops her earrings into his pants before she leaves the room. (Which Marianne is happily wearing the next day!!!!!!!) As soon as she does, she sees Lucy staring at her. Lucy is getting more and more uncomfortable knowing what's going on between Bree and Oliver, as she and Marianne are getting closer.

Oh, we also find out that Chris won his hearing against Caitlin as their was not enough evidence. Later, at the bar, they talking about it and Molly claims Caitlin probably lied after she drank too much and was embarrassed. Pippa overhears this and is visibly uncomfortable but says nothing. Lucy tries to stick up for Caitlin, but Molly insists Lucy can't know the truth either. Lucy then claims Pippa's assault as her own. Which, I get the intention, but in the grand scheme of things, this was not the way Lucy.

And Wrigley finally breaks down all over Pippa (after she screams at him for never taking anything seriously). He's sobbing and claiming he's broken and depressed and doesn't know what to do and everything just feels wrong. Pippa tells him they'll figure it out.

One more thing, Lydia calls and tells Lucy that she heard she accused Chris of drugging and rapping her. And now we get the actual reason why Lydia will never forgive her. It would be a lot easier to be on Lydia's side if she knew that while he didn't do this to Lucy, he was out doing it to who knows how many other girls. But either way, Lydia makes it clear, she and Lucy are DONE.

It's really interesting to see the situation with Diana and Stephen play out because it's almost the opposite of last season. Last season, it was Stephen who was feeling lost job-wise (not doubting what he wanted but struggling to make it happen). He was lacking ambition and like stewing in his own "pity-party", which I don't really like that term but you know. Diana convinced him to get back with her by manipulating that insecurity. She was saying, you used to be so ambitious and the Stephen I know would never have given up on getting an internship and I could talk to my dad if only we were together - all that stuff. This season Diana is struggling with acing the LSATs, cut off by her dad (like Stephen was with his mom), letting all this stunt her ambition and drive. It's interesting to see how she dealt with his stuff last semester and how he's dealing with hers now. He asked Evan, if I was at rock bottom, would Diana be there for me, and Diana was last semester, except his rock bottom was actually what happened with Macy and it was Lucy who knew and accepted him and supported him even though she should have went running in the other direction.
