Supergirl 3X8: Crisis on Earth-X, Part I

Um why are there Nazis? Don't we have enough issues with Nazis right now? 🙄

So, it seems like we've all been invited to Barry and Iris' wedding. (Not that any of our superheroes have bothered to RSVP, but still). Everything (at least the wedding stuff) is going well. There's a bunch of Flash related things that I so don't get. I didn't realize Kaitlin had superpowers. Why are we trying to get rid of the superpowers of those other guys? Does anyone every understand what Cisco is talking about?

At the rehearsal dinner, Kara's sister (oh, Kara just broke up with her boyfriend because he was married. I'm sure there's a story there) and Sara end up hitting it off and head off to have sex together (which Maggie- I think her name is Maggie- seems to regret the next morning). Iris' father (I think it's her father) gives a lovely speech about love. And Oliver discusses the possibility of he and Felicity getting married. And she says 'no.'

So basically episode over. I'm done now.

No, but, she tells him she loves him and loves the life they have, but doesn't feel the need to make it legal. (Where is this coming from? She didn't seem to have a problem with that when they were engaged before. Is it William? The start-up?) Either way, he continues to sort of cajole her about it and she yells, 'Oliver, I don't want to marry you!' and the whole room hears this. I hate it and I want Barry to reverse time so Felicity can take it back.

Anyway, we manage to make it to the wedding itself (when some weird girl approaches Barry- I thought it was because he was a superhero, but something else seems to be going on there). It's going fine until the priest asks for objections. And then, he gets obliterated.

And the Nazis have invaded the wedding. We've got Nazi versions of Supergirl, Arrow, and some guy from the Flash, but I don't know who he is. And they seem to be exactly matched, so I have no idea how we're supposed to fight them. But, fight we do. Eventually, Nazi Supergirl calls for her Nazis to retreat.

However, we manage to take a Nazi hostage and plan to find out what's going on by making him talk. I assume we'll get there next episode though, because this one is over.

Are we supposed to assume that one of the other Earths is living like the Nazis never lost power? And someone is trying to alter that? (Is that what was happening at the beginning of the episode? Don't tell me if I'm not supposed to know!).

Oh, The Flash is totally gonna have to end up on a poll at some point, isn't it? I don't really get a lot of the show, but the characters seem very charming.

Unlike Arrow, the flash show is on the lighter side with tons of emotions and heart and a lot of love especially between barry & Iris.

Yea, wally wasn't really in the show from the beginning, the way he gets introduced is intriguing. And yea, Caitlin's powers at this point is linked to emotions, most times negative emotions. Her powers arent regular, her power makes her become someone else, like someone else is living inside of her that gets released when she uses it.

Wally is Iris' brother. I don't know why that feels so shocking to me. Especially since I don't watch that show. Lol. Actually, now I remember Cisco having powers. Oh, Caitlin's powers are new. That makes sense. She seemed reluctant to use them or even talk about them. Is it normal for powers to be tied to emotions? It seems like everyone else can just use theirs?

Dana Licciardello

That seems to be the consensus. I'm enjoying this so far. Plus, right now, watching our friends kill Nazis is pretty cathartic.

Love these crossovers

Flash fan here. I can explain a little about the flash characters to make it less confusing but without spoiling the show if you end up watching. So, Barry is the flash, which you know already. Iris has been in the show from the very first episode, and Barry and Iris knew each other since they were kids. Iris's dad, Joe, is the one that did the speech at the rehearsal. The lady that stood next to him during the speech is his girlfriend. The guy that has the same powers as the flash, his name is Wally. He is Iris's brother. Caitlin, Cisco and Harrison all work at STAR Labs which is Flash's lab. Caitlin and Cisco both have powers, you didn't realize Caitlin had powers in the other crossover because she got them recently at that point. There is a big event that causes that, got to watch to find out what it is. Don't mind Cisco and his science talk, the flash is heavy when it comes to that. It can be hard to keep up with, especially if you don't follow the show. The girl that talks to the flash is VERY important to the flash's legacy.
