Um, guys, if the Chase/Chuck story line is Chase killed Chuck's dad with a tire iron, I'm totally in for this.
So, we've pulled a body out of a lake and the police think it might be Nathan, so Haley has to head over to identify it. Up until that point, I was 100% sure that Nathan was going to come home alive. And, while I still think that, I've allowed for the possibility that that might not be so. We've only got a handful of episodes left (and Nathan isn't in this season full time) and that would be a hell of a twist. But, when Haley looked at the body, I had no idea which way it was gonna go. Kudos to the show for making that so ambiguous. Thankfully, it turns out not to be Nathan.
When Haley gets back home though, she finds Deb waiting for her. (Totally forgot Deb even existed). She suggests to Haley that she might let Dan help. She doesn't fully trust him either, but she thinks he might actually have some leads, since the police don't seem to fucking care. (I mean, they are helping to keep Nathan hostage).
Xavier is basically stalking Brooke. I yell a lot about how they should call the cops for protection, but honestly, the Tree Hill cops suck, so I don't think they'd actually do anything. Julian throws him out of the cafe, but later can't decide if he did the right thing. Dan tells him, he's an ex-con and can't be trusted. (Yet, Julian seems to be trusting Dan just fine).
Okay, Logan (who's been running around whatever clinic Clay is in, you know, the one I thought might be imaginary?) is Clay's fucking son?!? He dissociated so much that he cannot remember he has a child? What is happening here? And the doctor tells him that both he and Sara's parents have told him this info repeatedly, but he wasn't ready to hear it. And he claims he's still not and leaves. This was a hell of a bombshell.
Chase is convinced Chuck's dad is beating on him and looks up the air force policy. Turns out, if he beats up Chuck's dad, he'll be discharged (I want to say dishonorably, but I can't actually remember). That doesn't seem to stop him though. When he shows up at Chuck's to say goodbye, he can hear shouting and screaming from inside. He pulls Chuck out of the house and goes inside and beats his dad with a tire iron. It's pretty great, honestly. He's arrested, but I think it was the right thing. I don't care how annoying Chuck is. You don't get to beat on a child.
Oh, and we find out that Quinn's ex-husband is the father of Lauren's unborn child. Odd. And also odd since Quinn mentioned that David drove a long way to come see if Haley was okay. Wouldn't he be closer if he was dating Lauren? Either way, we've got more important stuff going on right now.
