OMG. I did not realize just how badly I wanted to Elena and Damon together. (I mean, I knew I wanted it, but I didn't realize THIS much!)
So, we're all sort of skeptical of Tyler right now since he's Klaus' errand boy. However, Jeremy can't see anything wrong with it. Turns out, he's been compelled by Klaus and Tyler was a ruse to help get him off vervain. So, he ends up in the middle of the street, watching a truck driven by a hybrid bearing down on him (oh, and he's been conveniently compelled to take off his ring). Thankfully, Alaric happens to be there and he runs and pushes him out of the way. He dies, but he IS wearing his ring so all should be okay.
You guessed it. All was not okay. Turns out, he came back to life, but he wasn't actually healing. Surprise! a Hybrid shows up at the door telling Elena to let him in so he can use his blood to save Alaric. Before Elena can decide, Jeremy shows up and kills him. Then they get Alaric to the hospital where Damon gives him some blood to help him heal. Why is his ring not working? Things are getting sticky! (My guess is that it's a natural death via supernatural creature, so that messes with the mojo somehow 🤷♀️).
After this, Elena goes to plead with Stefan for help because she doesn't want Jeremy to die, but Stefan basically tells her to fuck off.
Klaus is busy running around trying to find Stefan (since he's got the caskets), but everyone tells him they don't know where he is. We do, but fuck you Klaus. But, fearful for Jeremy, Elena makes a deal with him. She'll trade him Rebekah if he promises to leave Jeremy alone. They agree and Klaus pulls the dagger out of Rebekah, but as soon as she starts to wake up, he puts it back in. I'm not sure if this was performative for Elena's sake or what. (But if it was that, he could have put the dagger back in as soon as Elena left. Curious).
At the end of the episode, Elena has Damon compel Jeremy to leave Mystic Falls and never think of it again. And he leaves. Is he actually gone? (Don't tell me). I was so not expecting this. But, to be fair, there is a crazy amount of shit happening right now.
And one of those things is that ELENA AND DAMON KISSED! He tells her he was just finally starting to not feel guilty about the way he feels about her (you know, since Stefan screwed up the killing of Klaus), but now he knows that Stefan did it to protect him, he's annoyed about it. Then decides, screw it. If I'm gonna feel guilty, let's do something the actually earn that guilt.
And Dana was happy. I know. I know. But you guys, it's a TV show. Let me enjoy the chemistry. Lol.
