Ugh. I just wanna kick Stephen in the teeth. He's such a douche. I'm glad he didn't get that internship. I mean, it's very easy to say (and see) from the outside, but if you ask your partner and honest question and they immediately get defensive, argumentative, and make you feel like you should apologize for asking, GTFO. NOW.
Anyway, there's a Halloween party which Lucy and Stephen aren't going to (why don't we go to parties?) but Pippa and Bree are. Bree is determined to lose her virginity to Tim. And she does. But it's awful. I'm not sure she knows how awful it was. But, when she has sex with him again the next night, it's also awful and it seems like she gets it that time. She consents, but it's not really enthusiastic consent.
Later, he blows her off because he found out she was virgin and was pissed that she didn't tell him. What? He acted like she put this huge burden on him (probably because he knows he sucks and sex and she'll probably always remember that now). Shut up. Go away.
Lucy and Stephen stay at his place and have sex. And Lucy finds a box of condoms in the drawer. This sort of upsets her, because they aren't using condoms so she assumes he's sleeping with other people (Even though they've agreed they could). He's got an interview the next day and pretends to be staying at his roommate's place, but really it's Diana's family.
His interview goes poorly because he got caught in some lies. Turns out, he's good at manipulating college girls, real adult women, not so much.
Afterwards, he invites Lucy over to celebrate (he lies and tells it go great). They have sex on on Diana's father's desk. But later, she again finds that he's got condoms in his bag. And she doesn't love this.
This is when they get into the fight, so to speak. She asks him why they never go anywhere with people they know. (Because he's still trying to have both her and Diana). And he throws a fit because he takes her out on dates that cost him money and he don't really have any money. She should be grateful he choses to spend the little money he has on her. Lucy immediately apologizes. Repeatedly. Desperate for him not to be mad. (We can already see this taking a turn, right?)
Eventually, he claims he's not and they go to sleep. The next morning, he tells her that Evan's parents are coming to there place and she needs to leave, like, now. (Heaven forbid anyone they know see them together, right?)
So, Lucy goes and asks out the bartender guy again. He says yes. While she's doing that, Stephen goes to Diana's to complain about how poorly he did at the interview. I don't think anything sexual happens, but she's totally playing the supportive girlfriend role.
After complaining about him to Pippa to Bree, Lucy sneaks out in the middle of the night to go climb into this bed.
