Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Reaction

Comments

Another fantastic reaction dude. Never stop singing your thoughts, it's a real highlight for me. This is such a great follow up to the last film. Like everyone, I was sad to see Sirius murdered in this film. It could be seen as a cheap exit for a beloved character and I think that is a fair reaction. However, what holds poignance for me in that moment. Is how it depicts the vast difference in the two sides. All one has to do is be willing to utter those words. A curse which is unforgivable and for which their seems to be little to no defence against. It raises the stakes in the drama when dealing with magic as a major component of the narrative. As you rightly highlighted, if we did the same in return, it would make us like them. The fact that it's a riskier side to be on, doesn't detract from the fact that it is the right side to be on. As Harry says earlier in the film, they need to learn to be able to protect themselves because it isn't going to be risk free. So what might seem cheap and not serving a beloved character. Could actually be seen as an incredibly successful way in portraying the reality in the danger of the situation. Building on the concept of how dangerous fanaticism is and how courageous these people are to stand up for whats right in spite of the obvious extreme perilous danger to their lives. Obviously looking forward to the next one.

Your wishes at the end are granted. Fine excuse for a reaction, Mega, and I knew you'd adore Umbridge. Would you ever consider adding captions? Some reactors find them useful to catch important dialogue when they're talking over it. Looking forward to our next visit...

Harry Potter: And the Order of the Phoenix- Thank you so much for another fun reaction to another great Harry Potter movie, Clint! I enjoy this movie a lot. And the fights in the end... first between the Order and the Death Eaters, then especially between Dumbledore and Voldemort are really amazing, and I enjoy them very much. Although... I do wish there was a little bit more to the fight between the Order and the Death Eaters. Just a little more. I wish we could have seen more of the Order. It isn't explained, but this movie does imply that the Order comes to Harry's and the other kids' rescue at the Ministry in the end thanks to Snape sending them a message to warn them of the danger to them and to Sirius, after Harry pleads with him to help Padfoot (Sirius Black). And I really love this. Snape definitely resents Harry and they butt heads a lot, and for good reason. But I love Snape. He's a good man. And so smart too. I think my biggest qualm with this movie is Sirius' death. I really think it's quite weak for a character such as Sirius has been built up to be. I love Sirius Black as a character, and have loved him ever since his introduction back in Harry Potter: And the Prisoner of Azkaban. And the books, and even these movies do such a great job in making us as the viewers love him and want more from him. So, for me... to see Sirius take out Lucius Malfoy like he does and then suddenly be killed off like he is so quickly and in such a weak way... it's really disappointing to me. But the fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort, then Harry's inner struggle with Voldemort invading his mind and body, is brilliant, and I love every moment of it. Bellatrix Lestrange is a fantastic character you love to hate, and boy... do I ever. I love Helena Bonham Carter as an actress too. She always plays such brilliantly twisted and sometimes deranged characters, and she's really phenomenal at doing so. Cedric Diggory's death in the previous movie... Harry Potter: And the Goblet of Fire is absolutely tragic. While we didn't know his character in the first three films because he is only first introduced in Goblet of Fire, he is another character that the books and these movies do a really good job with building up as someone we are meant to really care about. So, I really love how this movie continues to remind us of him and how the kids come to fight to honor Cedric as well as other loved ones against Voldemort. I really wish Cedric was in the first three Harry Potter movies too, so that we could have gotten to know him all the more. I definitely love his character, as well as Robert Pattison's portrayal of his character. I really like Robert Pattinson as an actor a lot too. And I really hate the Twilight movies. He's okay in them, but I love him more in the rest of his movies such as Harry Potter: And the Goblet of Fire, Water For Elephants, and Remember Me. I love seeing the introduction of the Order of the Phoenix that includes Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Snape, Mad Eye Moody, Arthur and Molly Weasley, Dumbledore, as well as characters that we are introduced to within this movie such as Tonks and Kingsley. And we also learn that Harry's parents, as well as Nevil's parents were all members of the Order as well. We know that Harry's parents are dead, and we also learn that Nevil's parents were tortured with the Cruciatus Curse by Bellatrix Lestrange. In the books, we learn that Nevil's parents were tortured so badly, that they are now living in an asylum under special care, and that they have no memory of their son. A fate worse than death, just like Sirius tells Harry upon showing him the photo of the original Order of the Phoenix. This is why Nevil is living with his Grandmother. I love Nevil too, and I love how he is so proud of being his parents' son. Because they suffered greatly, yet never gave into Bellatrix's torture. And lastly... I just love seeing more of Sirius and Lupin again. They're great characters, and it's so sad and maddening that Sirius has been killed off so soon. But overall... this is a really fun movie and I really loved watching your reaction for it. So thank you once again, Mega! I am excited for you to continue on with the final three Harry Potter movies, and hopefully the two Fantastic Beasts movies that have come out so far, that are prequels within the Harry Potter Universe! Until your next reactions, dear friend... Sincerely, Heidi
