The Vampire Diaries 2X13: Daddy Issues

Stop hurting Caroline! I hate that we didn't get to kill Jules and that asshole dude he tortured her. It's so not fair. They deserve to be eaten.

Anyway, after Tyler finds out the truth about the Salvatore brothers, he goes to Caroline looking for answers. She is reluctant to talk because it's not her secret to tell. Tyler gets upset and throws her up against a car. She immediately tells Stefan that Tyler knows and begs him not to tells Damon because he'd kill Tyler. But Stefan's right there with her. So he goes to talk to Tyler himself. During this, he finds out that Jules has kidnapped (and is fucking torturing) Caroline. So they agree to swap Tyler for Caroline.

However, when they get there they don't trust each other to make the trade. Eventually, Damon shows up and is all, 'I'll just kill you, so give us Caroline.' That's when we find out that there are a bunch of other werewolves and it's two against, like, a dozen. And the dozen have brought flamethrowers. A giant fight ensues.

During the melee, Tyler gets inside and lets Caroline out (after she has to plead with him- fuck you Tyler- after everything Caroline has done for you, you need to think about whether or not you want to save her!). As soon as she gets outside though, Jules has a gun to her head. Thankfully, Dr. Witch shows up and headaches all the werewolves besides Tyler. He tells them that Elijah intends to keep his promise to keep Elena's friends safe and that Caroline, Damon, and Stefan were free to go.

Back at home, Caroline is not doing great. She's picking pieces of wood out of her, and her clothes are a bloody mess. You can tell she's shaken (no matter what she says). At this point Matt calls (they had plans but she was too busy being tortured to make them) and she lies and said she was with Bonnie. But, of course, Bonnie is at the Grill and Matt knows she lied. Sigh. Caroline is just doing the best she can and she keeps getting the short end of the stick. But then, Stefan shows up bringing Elena and Bonnie over to keep Carolina company, which she obviously needs. It's very sweet.

In other news, John continues to be suspect. I mean, he does tell Damon how to kill an Original and gives him the tools to do it (assuming we can trust him, but we probably can't). However, he also swears up and down that he's only there to protect Elena, but he's also running around trying to get Katherine out of the tomb. How is that protecting Elena?

Tyler ends up going back to Jules and Asshole, because after he wouldn't help Caroline when Jules had a gun on her (and took forever to let her out of the damn cage), she told him they were not friends anymore. He tells them about the moonstone and they look super interested.

Oh and speaking of the moonstone, Stefan and Damon know that it's not actually de-spelled. I'm not sure if Bonnie knows though.

And I continue to LOVE what we are doing with Damon's thought process right now. Who doesn't love a morally gray character?
