Arrow 5X2: Recruits

So, Oliver is a really shitty teacher. But to be fair, it's HARD to be in charge. Especially when you're used to working alone. But Felicity manages to put him in his place, and help him figure out what he needs to do.

Felicity gets Curtis, Wild Dog, and girl whose name I cannot remember (but I'm pretty sure Darhk killed her parents), to start the new team. However, when they show up, Oliver just keeps screaming at them and beating them up. It's not particularly helpful.

Meanwhile, Oliver has to play mayor and get some corporation (AmeriTech- or something similar) to sponsor some kind of community clinic. They are happy to do it to get the publicity. We find out later it's because they are getting ready to file for bankruptcy. Either way, during the event, the guy who attacked the police officer at the end of last episode attacks. (And this is after he attacked the VP of AmeriTech earlier). Thea had contacted Quintin to do security not knowing he was back to drinking.

Anyway, Thea finds out the president of AmeriTech is working with Church (you remember him from last episode) and is willing to give him a bunch of guns for $100,000,000. That seems like a lot, but I'm pretty sure that's what it was. So, the same guy (the Ragman) ends up trying to attack the president and Arrow (and sort of Wild Dog) stops him. Wild Dog ends up with some actually evidence that Felicity cons her law enforcement BF into getting her an ID for.

Turns out, Ragman is the last survivor of the nuclear bomb that fell on Havenrock. He's hell bent on getting revenge on the person (Darhk) who killed everyone he knew and loved. Oliver ends up convincing him (maybe?) to come work with him because they are both on the same side.

Later, (because Felicity promises them) Oliver asks the original recruits to come back and he apologizes. He also tells them who he actually is. He explains why he's been such a pain in the ass, and all of them agree to rejoin the team.

I have no idea what's going on with the Ragman. At the end of the episode, he ends up attacking Church, but telling him he gets the Green Arrow. I'm not sure if he's trying to protect Oliver from him, or if he wants to be able to kill Oliver himself.

Oh and Thea has decided to appoint Quintin to deputy mayor. She figures if he's got something to do, he won't need to drink. I'm concerned about this plan.
