Shameless 8X11: A Gallagher Pedicure

That said, I quite liked this episode. It may have been my favorite of the season so far. I feel like we are finally back to the Gallaghers we know. I realize shows should be about growth, but I so don't want this in this show.

Frank is trying to figure out how he can scam social security payments. He tries several different people that he's stolen from, but none of those work. Eventually, he settles for cashing in on himself, but it turns out that since he's only worked 6 weeks in his life, he only qualifies for $3/month. I fear that will be me when I try to retire. (Granted, I've worked since I was 16, I'm 44 now, but I never made even decent money. I went into a field that pays peanuts. Sigh).

Debbie has severely injured three of her toes. She's got two options: have surgery for $50,000; or amputate for $6000. She decides to get drunk/high and let Liam cut off her toes figuring it would be cheaper. However, before he can do it, both he and Debbie pass out. Frank wanders in, figures out what is happening, and cuts off her toes and cauterizes them. It was super gross. But I'm very anti-feet.

Ian might be getting in over his head. He wants to help people, sure, but it's turning into potential felonies. He's harboring a minor, and then is complicit in making a van explode. I believe in his vision, but I'm concerned he's gonna end up in jail. That said, I love a good cult. And this storyline has all the makings of a cult. I will DIE if this turns out that way.

Um, Svetlana had almost killed F lady (her name is hard and i don't wanna look it up 😳) after trying to figure out how she bagged a rich guy but Svetlana couldn't. She drags her, half alive to the Alibi. I have no idea where we are going from here, but every episode this season, I'm more and more sure that Svetlana won't be around for S9. (I think I'm sad about this).

And we finally get to say, fuck Fiona. There is zero chance that all this shit that you're doing is not illegal. God I hope she ends up actually owing that 5 and change million so Lip can say, 'I told you so.' It's not that I agree with the people who are doing this to her, but she's really needed a kick in the teeth lately.

Oh, and Lip managed to goad Sierra's dad into a fight so he got put back in jail as soon as he got out. I'm a big fan of this. Seems like Sierra is too.
