Sons of Anarchy 1X12: The Sleep of Babies
Added 2024-10-30 20:00:09 +0000 UTCIt feels like this episode could totally have been the season finale. I have no idea what they could possibly do next episode to top this one.
So, Clay and Tig come up with a plan for Tig to kill Opie. But it's folded into a plan for them to get some money. (They are going to need cash to pay the lawyer for Bobby). Clay goes and talks to the Niners. He tells them that the club is gonna sell guns to the Mayans. But they picking up the cash elsewhere. Once SOA are clear, the Niners are the ambush. And then, SOA will sell guns to the Niners.
However, it turns out that they were double-crossed, and the Niners show up while SOA are still there. This leads to a shoot out, where Opie ends up killing two guys to save Tig. Almost immediately after, Tig has the clear shot on Opie that Clay told him to take, but he doesn't do it. Later, he tells Clay that he didn't have a clear shot. But, since everything was so fucked up anyway, Clay doesn't seem concerned. And they make plans for Tig to kill him later that night after Able's welcome party in a drive by. They plan to blame it on the Niners.
Thankfully, Hale decides to do the right thing and tell Unser about bitch lady setting up Opie. Unser than talks to Clay about it. Realizing that Tig is already out doing the job, Clay frantically tries to get in touch with him to call it off. However, Tig doesn't have his phone and Clay gets his voicemail. But, in a crazy twist, Opie and Donna end up switching cars, and Tig ends up killing Donna. After Donna being so hardcore pro club in this episode, I should have seen this coming.
At Abel's welcome home party, Tara makes a show of 'being with Jax'. (You know, because Wendy stopped her in the street to tell her that she and Jax would never be able to be together because Gemma hates her). Jax pulls her into the bedroom to talk about it and tells her that Wendy is sensitive now and he doesn't want to do anything that might jeopardize her sobriety so they need to cool it when she is around. Tara is incensed, slaps him, and leaves.
Once word gets out about Donna, the SOA all migrate to the place where she was killed. Jax seems suspicious of Clay. I'm not sure if he knows something is up, or if he's just upset for his friend. Hale blames bitch lady who shows up and punches out the detective who was with her. I was so hoping he'd hit her too, but to no avail. Maybe Hale is gonna end up being less awful than anticipated.
When Jax gets back home, he and Wendy end up having sex. (Congrats Gemma?) But afterwards, he doesn't seem all that excited. But, he's not kicking her out or leaving either. I mean, to be fair, Tara has been trying to get him to talk about what this relationship is, but he tells her he needs time. However, he also said his feelings for her have never changed. I don't know what to think. But honestly, as much as I'm sort of infatuated with Gemma, I don't want her to win, so I'm rooting for Tara. Lol.

2024-11-01 21:40:22 +0000 UTCGlad I'm not alone on the pro-Tara train here. Seriously, Clay was so ready to off Opie. He didn't even give it a second to think about it. Tig was like, I found this. And Clay was like, well, time to die. TF?

2024-11-01 20:52:59 +0000 UTCOoh, I didn't think about the original plan. They agreed to kill Hefner because he killed the first Irish guy. And the second Irish guy was like, I'm gonna die, my dying wish is for you to kill this guy. And even at the vote for it, some of them were kind of skeptical- murder for hire really isn't what they do. There's is something about Gemma that just makes me like her. She's a shitty person, but she's got hooks in me. But this shit with Tara is ridiculous. She and Jax are both grown adults. Worry about your own relationship, lady. Yeah. I was very down on Hale at the beginning, but honestly, he's proven clutch. He definitely gets more rope with me now.,

2024-10-31 08:26:19 +0000 UTCI think when Tara kissed Jax in front of Gemma and Wendy at Abel's party, that was an example of the things that Charming and the club lifestyle bring out in her that she originally left town to escape. It definitely was not like her. Gemma and Wendy are getting to her. Doesn't help that she needs Jax to define their relationship, but he's not ready/willing to. I think Donna is finally "all in" with Opie and whatever goes with that choice, including embracing the club as an extended family. Of course it makes the final tragedy even sadder.

2024-10-31 08:15:13 +0000 UTCI'll root for Gemma in most things, but not against Tara. It makes no sense. Leave her alone.

2024-10-31 07:38:20 +0000 UTCAs much as I would love to blame Stahl here, this is all on Clay. If they hadn't killed Hefner in the first place then Opie couldn't have been set up. Also, Clay is the one who didn't believe Opie and conspired with Tig to kill him behind the club's back! I have no sympathy for Clay or Tig getting played by Stahl. They should have believed Opie and Jax. Poor Donna, she was completely innocent in this whole thing. It's just sad.
