The Vampire Diaries 2X11: By the Light of the Moon

Okay, so it looks like the werewolf bite, at the very least, injures a vampire. When Rose is initially bitten, the would heals pretty much immediately, and she and Damon are pleased it was a myth. However, not long after, the spot of the bite becomes painful and looks infected. I don't know yet if this is going to kill her, but it's certainly not harmless.

Anyway, Elena is still busy trying to sacrifice herself so save everyone. So Bonnie ends up magically trapping her in the house so she can't leave. However, later, Elijah shows up at the house (invited in by Jenna for some unrelated reasons, she has no idea he's a vampire) and he and Elena come to an agreement. Turns out, he doesn't want to break the curse, he just wants to use Elena as bait to draw out Klaus so he can kill him. He promises to keep everyone she loves safe. Elena agrees, but only if he can get Stefan out of the tomb. Which, he does.

Meanwhile, one of Mason's friends has come to Mystic Falls looking for him since he never came home. As far as Tyler knows, he went back to Florida. I don't know who this girl is connected with, but she contacts someone to let them know that Tyler is a werewolf. Turns out, she's also a werewolf. And apparently, much smarter than either Damon or Alaric who try to trick her into finding out if she is one. (Although, to be fair, Mason was too smart to be tricked by them as well- maybe werewolves are just smarter than vampires 🤷‍♀️). Damon antagonizes her and she tells him it's not the best day to pick a fight with her.

While all this is going on, Tyler is going through his first werewolf transformation. Through it all, Caroline refuses to leave his side. I cannot tell if this is just friendship or maybe something more. I would be totally fine if they ended up together. Although, maybe when Tyler as had a little more time under his belt. He might totally accidentally bite Caroline at this point. But she keeps an eye on him to make sure he doesn't escape and hurt anyone through the night. And, as soon as he turns back to a human, she is there comforting him.

At the end of the episode, Damon comes home to find Rose there. She admits she's has nowhere else to go, but also that she's willing to help protect Elena. Damon accepts this and they decide to be friends with benefits. However, a werewolf crashes through the window and bites Rose. Damon stabs it (I don't think he killed it) and they immediately check her wound which seems to be healing. But turns out, not so much. Shortly after, it begins to hurt, and when they check it again, it's looking painful and infected.

Oh, also, Bonnie and the witch boy 'de-spell' the moonstone making it useless. I thought it was much too easy. Turns out it was. it was all a show so that Bonnie thinks it no longer has power. However, I still can't tell how I feel about witch boy. I mean, he's obviously doing his father's bidding, but he doesn't seem pleased about it. Maybe he'll switch sides?

Dude. I take back a thousand times what I said about not being interested in this storyline. It's so good!
