One Tree Hill 7X19: Every Picture Tells a Story

Okay, so we've got Haley who is still struggling. And, honestly, I'm a little concerned that she might end up hurting herself. I don't know. Self harm, maybe? Self medicating? That last scene of her getting out of bed and just the pain and anguish she is feeling right now. I'm afraid for her.

Anyway, it's the night of Quinn's gallery opening. Haley is going, but Nathan and Jamie are staying home. They have a boy's night, a blast, and totally destroy the house.

At the gallery, we find out that the sex tape Alex's co-star (no idea what his name is) made, is being used to blackmail Julian and his father for a million dollars. Julian is pissed. And mostly at Alex. I get that it's just the latest in a string of things she's done to mess shit up for him, but this one truly isn't her fault. Thankfully, Brooke realizes this and tells Alex to help her. Turns out, that co star leaked this himself. Well, apparently the plan was to just leak it, but try to extort people with it. We'll see how that goes, I guess.

Fake Sara shows up. She's basically stalking Clay now. And she buys a portrait of him. It's super creepy. Then, she texts him about how Quinn's not right for him. He pulls her aside and chastises her. She sort of apologizes and then just leaves? That was way too easy. There is no chance that's over. But, later on, Clay gives Quinn the whole story. I'm glad that this came out right away and we didn't need to spend the rest of the season with him hiding his from her.

Brooke and Julian are officially back together. Everyone (but probably me the most) is thrilled about this. But Julian says something like, 'Now that I've got you, I'm never letting go. We're gonna be together forever.' So, basically, one of them are going to die. Lol.

After the gallery, Haley comes home and Nathan tells her he had such a good time with Jamie, and he wants to have another baby. She tells him that she actually took a test that morning, but it was negative. He tells her it's okay and they can try again. Which implies they've been trying. However, I have no idea how Haley feels about this. She's putting up this mask for Nathan and the second he can't see her face, it just crumples and falls.

And then we get that ending scene. Haley, my heart hurts for you.

Some other stuff happened that I don't really care about. Skills punching Mouth after he finds out about him and Lauren. The bartender proposes to the record label lady so she can stay in the country (I literally don't even know the names of these people). The relationship between Victoria and Alexander comes to light.

This story is so heartbreaking for Haley, but gosh does Joy play it all so well. Her anguish and despair, and such visceral pain, resonates on such a deep personal level for anybody who has experienced loss of this type. The fact that Haley has now lost both of her parents, makes her pain 10x worse I believe, and so unimaginable right now. That scene at the beginning when she's taking the pregnancy test, was written so well and I love that we didn't know that her and Nathan had either been trying for a baby, or they decided not to do anything to actively prevent it from happening, but either way the fact that Haley suspected she might be pregnant leads to the conclusion that another baby had at least been talked about and somewhat planned for. It's sort of always been implied that Naley would have more children and a big family. We've gotten plenty of scenes and flashbacks over the years with them talking about a little boy with Nathan's eyes, and a little girl just like Haley, and having a house full of kids, like was mentioned and hinted at during their anniversary night in S6. Then we have Lydia showing back up and planting the seed to Haley that her and Nathan need another one, lol, so to now find out that Haley is taking a pregnancy test...seems very fitting for Naley and this storyline. Meanwhile...Nathan is home with Jamie, and they are having a guy's night, and I love watching Nathan be such a great dad and just reveling being in dad mode. Teaching Jamie the art of a good shave one day, hehe, and playing rock band with him while they dressed up as Kiss, lol, and reading to him before bed...so heartwarming indeed. And it's revealed that Jamie gets lonely sometimes and is talking about how cool it would be to have a brother, so you'll always have a best friend around, and there's your answer as to why Nathan didn't go with Haley to Quinn's art gallery opening, hehe, so that we would get to see Nathan being such a great dad, and the seed being planted for him wanting another baby. So when Haley comes home, and Nathan tells her that he wants them to have another baby, and she reveals that she actually took a pregnancy test this morning, but it was negative, and he says that's okay, they can try again, and Haley says that she's fine before hugging him and then we see the distant look on her face that clearly says otherwise....I always interpreted that scene as being the breaking point for Haley. Remember she just told Brooke that she's believes that's life plan, that you have your kids to hold onto when you lose your parents......so hearing Nathan now so excited to admit that he wants them to have another baby, she feels so defeated and deflated that she can't give him that right now. I think she desperately wanted to be pregnant right then to give her some hope and something to hold onto, and now it seems like it's one more thing that she's lost or doesn't have right now. Joy played it all so well with just that one look of despair. And even though it's kinda sad and melancholy because of Haley's emotional state, I still love that Naley scene for them. I love that we get to so clearly see Nathan absolutely enamored with the idea of having more babies.....and my heart just melts. It's all so good, and the JL's shined so bright in that scene together because there were so many conflicting and underlying emotions associated with Nathan saying let's have another baby right now with the backdrop of Haley's depression.... it's so efffing good. And that scene at the end is so gut-wrenching because Haley is trying so hard to mask her pain and stay strong for her family and those around her.... but you clearly see that she's absolutely suffocating inside, and it has to come out in some way, and all the options aren't good. Joy plays it all so unbelievably well though as the distant, and far off stares and glances from Haley this episode were palpable. We're beginning to see her struggle with remaining present and in reality, while she's so broken inside. I also enjoyed the majority of the other stuff going on as well. Glad that Brooke and Julian have officially gotten back together, and the psycho Katie stuff is a good arc for Clay and Quinn, and Victoria and Alexander are hilarious with their sexcapades being outed, lol....and yes, Brooke's facial expressions surrounding the pair were so damn funny, lol. And I know most don't care for Grubbs and Miranda, but they actually worked well together I thought, and Grubbs is an amazing singer/songwriter, so I think you'll be pleased with his music at least, lol. But Naley is my main focus and enjoyment....and I just love S7 so much for them. It's such a great storyline for Naley and NHJ as a family unit, so I really hope you enjoy the rest of the season and what's to come!!!

Melissa

im sooo happy that Quinn has grown on you I really love her character and yes I also dont really care for the bartender guy and the label lady or that whole relationship thing at all and would rather watch way more of any other main characters relationship like Naley, Brulian or Quinn and Clay.

The great mist of Gaming

Yeah I don’t like them either

C. J. Ramirez

Yeah. She has. I genuinely care if she's happy or not. I do not, however, care if bartender and record label lady are happy. 🤣

Dana Licciardello

Has Quinn growed on you yet
