Wildfire 3X4: Close to Home

So, Kris' trailer burns down due to some faulty electrical stuff and she's forced to move into the Ritter house. She is not super comfortable with this. And is itching to figure out how to get out of the house.

Turns out, there's a roping contest that she convinces Matt (who is apparently a roping champion) to join with her. But he's only got two days to teach her how. First prize is a brand new trailer! However, while he's teaching her, things get kind of intimate, and Junior shows up. Matt leaves and thing get a little uncomfortable. Shortly after that, Matt decides he doesn't have time to teach her anymore. (I don't know what they are trying to do with this Kris/Matt/Junior triangle here).

This is where Kris kind of blows up and is all, 'I need to get out of this house and get some privacy!' Obviously, Jean's feelings are hurt by this. Kris tries to explain, but things get awkward. She gives it a day and then goes back to apologize. Jean is gracious and understands that Kris needs her own space. And, lucky for us, turns out Jean is a roping champion as well and she teaches Kris. Then, they convince Matt to to the contest with her.

They don't win. Sad. But Kris, you only learned how to do this 2 days ago. I'd have been annoyed if they won. Later, Kris and Jean are talking and a women comes up and assumes they are mother and daughter. Jean goes to correct her, but Kris doesn't bother. She just goes with it. It's a pretty sweet moment.

While all this is happening, Junior is getting ready for his first rodeo. But these stupid loser other rodeo guys are giving him a hard time. Beating him up, and trying to get him killed by cutting his rope. This all gets into his head and he doesn't do very well.

Later, when it's his teacher's turn to go, something goes wrong (I have no idea what, but it seems like he's just somehow stuck to the side of the bull), Junior rushes out to save him earning the respect of the assholes. Fun.

Teacher guy's (he's got initials, something like JR, JK, TK- something like that) got a thing for Dani. And after some flirting, he manages to kiss her after he falls off the bull. But he's leaving, so I assume that's not going anywhere. But Junior is also going to the next rodeo, so maybe?

This episode was fun, but I'm ready to get back to a Kris and Wildfire duo.
