Outlander 7X8: Turning Points

I both cannot believe, and hate, that this is the last Outlander for quite some time. How did this show, that I thought was about boring history stuff I knew nothing about, turn into the greatest love story I've ever encountered?

So, we get a classic Jamie and Claire to start with. Claire finds Jamie unconscious (?) on the battlefield being pickpocketed and threatens to kill them if they don't get the hell away from her husband. Turns out, he's mostly okay, but then he's got to listen to Claire being upset with him for getting himself hurt while she fixes him up. And we get to see Jamie be amused by it. It was absolutely delightful.

But, we've got to go back for a second battle, which is less fun, as Jamie is up against both his uncle and William. Jamie, while trying to not shoot his uncle, accidentally, almost kills Wilie (he doesn't know it's him). Later, someone does kill his uncle (why do the higher up guys strut back and forth on their horse, it totally makes them a target?), and Jamie is called to go over to say goodbye to him.

He and Claire go, and also run into Willie. Jamie gives him his hat to make up for the one he shot off his head (you know, when he almost killed him?). They have only good things to say about Jamie over on the British side.

Meanwhile, I surrender has been issued by the British, but in the terms, they are asking for Jamie and his kin to accompany his uncle back to Scotland. This is all Jamie and Claire want. They are super happy.

Also, Claire runs into Benedict Arnold who is super annoyed at one of the officers who never gives him credit or a promotion. Do we think this is what caused him to turn coat? Claire and Jamie actually have a nice conversation about it.

Plus, we figure out that they guy Brianna works with took Jemmy through the stones because he knew where the Jacobite gold was after reading the letters. Okay, that actually makes sense. I hate that we're doing it (and that this guy believed it), but I can get on board with this. So, Roger and this ancestor decide to follow them through the stones with Brianna and Mandy wait behind.

At the very end of the episode, Jamie; Claire; and Ian make it back to Scotland. Well, that's not actually true, but the ship is close enough to see Scotland. In this show, anything can happen.

Do we think that the back half of S7 is gonna be a lot of switching back and forth between 1770s Lallybroch, and 1980s Lallybroch? Also, so we think it's gonna be an ordeal to get off this ship? Like pirates or something else crazy?
