Wildfire 1X12: Impressions

I didn't love this episode. There was too much annoying Tina Sharp and not enough Kris.

So, Tina is running around Raintree with a camera crew, which is super annoying for everyone, but it's hard to argue with the free publicity it's giving the farm. Unfortunately for them, the more attention Tina gets, the better her times are.

Matt is struggling with his gambling addiction. He's been doing okay, but than Bobby shows up asking him if he wants to place a bet. Matt tells him no, but later calls him, and changes his mind last minutes. But the next day (or thereabouts) he heads over to Bobby's and cannot resist putting a bet on a football. (I mean, I think. They cut the scene before we know for sure, but that's certainly where it's headed).

And speaking of Matt, he's trying date Tina Sharp, when she's made it clear all she wants to do is have fun. But he tells her he won't sleep with her again until they go on a date. Afterwards, he tells her he loves her, but she rebuffs him.

Junior takes Kris for dinner at his house. But the whole meal is his dad trying to get info out of Wildfire (he's the competition for their horse, Avatar), and Dani being pissed that her dad won't talk about why he doesn't want her to find her mom. It's kind of a disaster. Later on, Junior tells his dad he's in love with Kris, but his dad says she's probably just after his money.

And Todd tries to ride Wildfire for the first time (and only second time on a horse), and promptly falls off. He hits his head pretty hard and ends up in the hospital in critical condition. Kris blames herself (she told Todd riding Wildfire was amazing), but Pablo assures her it's not her fault. However, no one can get in touch with Matt, which is when Jean finds out he's not actually going to gambling meetings and is 'dating' Tina Sharp. She is not happy. But we've got bigger things to worry about right now. Like Todd being unconscious.
