One Tree Hill 6X4: Bridge Over Troubled Water

This was a little better, tears-wise, but I still managed to be emotional. Why does this show make me cry so much? They've done a really good job fleshing out these characters over the seasons. I really care about them.

Nathan ends up kicking Deb out of the house over her relationship with Skills. I think this is a bit hasty, but it's not my mom. Either way, Deb runs into Carrie at the park and they 'bond' over families not understanding how hard it is to be a nanny. Deb tells her she got fired, so Carrie knows the house will be empty during the game. This bitch breaks in and steals a bunch of Jamie's stuff so he'll have it after she kidnaps him.

Brooke has actually gone to therapy! I don't believe it! But I'm so happy for her! The therapist encourages her to go see her mom, which she does. She confronts her about hiring someone to attack her. Her mom doesn't really deny or accept responsibility. Instead, she tells Brooke about how she never wanted her and ruined her life. My god, fuck this bitch. In the end, Brooke lets it all go. She tells her mom she can have the company, but she no longer has a daughter. (I'm gonna be so mad in the future if Victoria tries to make up for this.). This is obviously not as bad as what Dan did, but Dan at least always had a justification about how he was trying to prepare Nathan for the future, to not end up with regrets, like he did. Victoria is literally just, you suck and I didn't want you.

During the game, the Ravens decide to only play with four men, leaving the fifth spot open to honor Q. They lose, but not by that much for being down a man all game. At the end of the game, the team tells Lucas that they want to play a man day for the rest of the season in tribute to him. It's actually a really, really sweet moment. There are some good kids on this team.

Surprise, surprise, I'm not all that interested in the fact that this guy is probably Peyton's dad. What is it with long lost Sawyers just constantly showing up?

And Haley finds out that the hospital had a heart for Dan and he never called to get it. She's suspicious that something is up. Nathan is just hoping he crawled away to die. But we're gonna have to deal with that soon. Again, I still assume this will somehow all work out for Dan.

I really enjoyed this episode and how it picked up with Q's death still being felt and prominent as it's only been 8 days. The fact that it centered around the Ravens first game back since losing Q was an emotional backdrop for sure, but including Q's mom and Andre was a touching tribute for sure. And since Paul was directing this episode, we didn't get any Dan, but Psycho Carrie continues to become more and more unhinged. Everyone better watch out. Her breaking into Naley's house and stealing Jamie's clothes and that uncomfortable exchange with Chester as she picks up the bunny.... will always be so chilling, lol!!! I also really loved the stuff between Nathan, Deb, and Skills because what son would ever be okay with their mother hooking up with their friend who she met online no less, lol, so Nathan's reaction to it all being out in the open was very fitting and realistic. It's not surprising in the least that Nathan's first response was to throw Deb out of the house, lol, but by episode's end, he had relented because of Jamie but he told Deb in no uncertain terms that he didn't want to hear about it or know about it, hehe. It's so Nathan!!!! And Jamie telling Nathan that he let's him kiss his mom was oh so hilarious, lol!!!! That exchange between father and son might have been my very favorite of the entire episode, lol!!!! And yay for Brooke going to see Naley's therapist. She offered her some real sound and sage advice, so Brooke going back to N.Y. to confront her mother was everything. Talk about a gut-punch realization. To have to hear from your mother that you were never planned for or wanted, and that you basically got in the way of your mother's dreams.....I can't even with Victoria. Brooke having the courage to say to her that she finally got everything she ever wanted, a company, but no daughter was so unbelievably brave and strong. Loved Brooke in that moment. Now we'll see if there is any hope for Victoria moving forward. And we have Haley starting to put the pieces together that things with Dan don't seem to add up, while Nathan isn't putting too much stock into anything just yet. I so can't wait for your reaction to 6x05....it's a wild ride for sure, hehe.
