Epilepsy warning- flashing images below
Those of you on Discord will already know this but I finished the texture pack last month and uploaded it as a beta so that volunteers could test for any remaining issues. That bug hunt is now ending and I'm ready to work on the final release video.
Since the last progress video in October 2,215 textures have been either newly created or revised- for perspective, the total texture count at the moment is about 6,200, so a substantial amount of the total work that has gone into the pack has been done in the last few months.
This is the reason my uploads have been a little less frequent lately, so I wanted to share what specifically has been taking all this time.

While the environments were mostly done last fall I still hadn't started the effect animations, enemy textures, and many early characters. The animations were especially tricky to finish since it's a much different process than a normal texture and took some time to get used to. There were also many textures that were missing because I hadn't spotted them or simply forgot to finish them before moving on to the next area.
A large portion of the work has also gone into revising earlier textures. Link's eyes have been the source of many arguments and they've been redrawn from scratch to reduce the "I'm high on LSD" look:

Other textures have also gone through an absurd number of drafts before arriving at the current version. The treasure shop ad didn't look right until I looked up a lot of antique carnival posters and followed their lead for the font:

I've also replaced most of the main clock town textures because they had been based on photos downloaded from the internet and looked like photos downloaded from the internet. In my opinion the new hand drawn versions blend in better and avoid some mapping issues the old versions and the originals had:

There were also many early textures that were hand drawn and simply looked bad, so I redrew them more carefully:

There have also been hundreds of changes to the text and UI, mostly resolution increases and accuracy improvements. Not all of these are exciting enough to show comparisons for but they do make the pack look better.
The final release of the pack will likely happen next week and the tutorial video will come a little later this month. It's unfortunate that Axiom Verge 2 launched right in the middle of this when I couldn't devote the time to reviewing it but rest assured that it absolutely will be in the next Metroidvania video; I already recorded all the captures I need in between working on textures.
Thanks again for your patience as I get this thing done, especially those of you who are only here for the videos and don't care about this passing "Zelda" fad. Stay safe!
