Based on an image that bubbled up in my head while meditating I'd always seen this piece bathed in red light, which meant I could greyscale the majority of the background and layer in the colour later. The results of the poll showing a desire for drones pushed me gently into putting those MSA masks onto the 'patients' (thanks for that guys - it'll be fun to explore those more in future works.)
I've promised myself to make the next two paintings a little less involved - it's fun packing in all the detail, and characters into these pieces but they do take time. So here's to picking up a little pace.
Next piece is going to be titled 'Salome'.
