Heh. Well, how were YOU expecting this battle to go? Yeah, this whole adventure is about Lance pulling himself up from the sandbox and back up to Champion status. So let's face it; it'd be super boring if he won every single battle. Plus there's just something so adorable about Sabrina being a baby-brained little cutie but still a force to be reckoned with. Clearly she's still got talent. What I like about this is that Lance didn't lose because he was overconfident and made a bad call. He led with Deino who has a type advantage against Sabrina's entire team, so he WAS trying to battle earnestly. Turns out she's just that tough. Few things about Sabrina's team; the Haunter (obviously) is a reference to the anime continuity (Pre-Champ is a little bit of everything when it comes to canon). I usually like to only give Type-experts a single Pokemon that's a break from their chosen type and think that was a natural pick for her. Her Espeon devolved from an Eevee in the regression wave but because it's a happiness evolution it was able to just bounce right back (Karen's Umbreon-turned-Eevee can't because her bedtime is too early to evolve it at night). And we can see that her Slowking-turned-Slowpoke is her Ace. Generally have Aces at the back of a team, hence why Lance keeps his Dratini back there. But yeah, our hero suffers a loss, but don't worry. He's ready to go on and keep his fight going. Funny, we had two comics ready to go today, this and another, much, MUCH more popular ongoing comic (Yes, the one you're thinking of) but we wanted to get this one out because we know we're going to be making a Pokemon submission before ZA drops in like a week anyway. Need to space those out as best we can.
