What’s a pig to do when he has a stupid cat husband with a chronic breeding kink paired with a simultaneous fear of actually getting pregnant? You drag your stupid catboy to the vet to get fixed, that’s what Tibbs did. >:( No chewing your stitches, Perry!

Jk, Perry elected to get a bilateral salpingectomy (total removal of both fallopian tubes) all on his own. He’s a sterilized boi~ From a scientific perspective, he can acknowledge that pregnancy is a miracle or whatever blah blah, but it is NOT what he wants for himself, and he never has. Additionally, while having litters is rare in the general population, they run in Tibbs’ family (Lulu was born alongside 13 other siblings), so Perry could end up having like eight baby boarlets or kittens at once, which is uhhhhh definitely not what he wants. Tibbs definitely wouldn’t mind having a baker’s dozen of babies, but not enough to want to subject his partner to an unwanted and high risk potential pregnancy. Perry has always held a strong desire to adopt, and this is a wish that Tibbs very much shares~

I know others have mentioned it, but I love seeing such a wide variety of characters and Lulu is *so good* - I love how her constant positivity undermines her in so many ways. It brings to mind something The Husband told me - the first time anyone had tried to discipline him - not just lash out at him because he wasn't "behaving" - he was *so* excited. He followed the punishment (being grounded) to the letter. Knowing that this parent/caregiver was actually perceiving him as a kid who needed guidance and discipline and who was willing to give him those things for his own well-being was a huge deal. Tibbs isn't/wasn't dealing with quite the same thing, but idk, having someone who sees you and loves you anyway man.

Scyllarus

Ah yes, the two genders - bad horny and good horny apparently :/ I'm now very excited to see how people deal with these expectations, like - I know the whole Rangale thing is getting reworked, but I'd be interested in how they manage/excuse behaviors due to rut/heat. Or non-mammalian species which might have similar-but-not (or just not) behaviors and how that's seen in society. Or aro/ace individuals dealing with The Horrors (or maybe just The Annoyances) every season. And Biscuit is an ob/gyn and I bet she has some interesting takes on these seasons...though how she handles these takes in her personal life...Or the discourse around everything, too, haha. Also, bless these idiots. I love that Tibbs and Perry are able to love each other so deeply despite (maybe because) of their differences.

Scyllarus

I wonder what happened to make the surrogate case fall through...

Lammergayier

Thats great to know! I'm getting mine done at the end of the month. Glad to know you had a good recovery!

QuietZen

In a way, yeah. Like Tibbs loves Lulu, that's his mom, he's a mama's boy. But Mona is by and large the more mature of the two, the more realistic. She's who Tibbs turns to when he needs honest advice, not just blind praise like Lulu dishes out. Mona is gentle and kind and playful without being mean, she puts Tibbs at ease more than he's willing to admit. When Lulu says she's proud of Tibbs it's sorta like yes, thank you, that's a given, but when Mona says it it kinda makes Tibbs want to cry, and he doesn't know why.

Lopoddity

Maybe this is a question for the family tree pic but this comment got me thinking. With Tibbs’ rocky patch with his mom in his teens and you mentioned that he always respected Mona even if he didn’t like her in the beginning, is he closer to Mona as adult than Lulu? Or just kinda equal, they’re both my mom’s kinda way? Either way, that’s super cute

Rut season affects Tibbs the same way it does most other mammal males. It's a hormone rush that causes heightened libido, boosted energy, and aggression toward other males, particularly potential sexual competitors. Rut isn't an all-consuming animalistic mental takeover, it's a simple niggling urge that sits at the back of the brain, quite similar to how human PMS can cause irritability, mood swings, and increased libido. In his young adulthood ,Tibbs didn't know what to do with all this newfound testerone and rut impulse, so he played at being the kind of big tough sexually dominant boar he thought would attract mature sows (ie. his older ex, Joan). As a mature adult he no longer feels the need to do this. In truth, Tibbs is kinda shy. He finds his rut to be pretty annoying, and meditates/exercises a LOT to keep all that rut aggression in check. It took him quite some time to even disclose to Perry that he undergoes an annual period of aggressive hypersexuality- because he considers it embarrassing, and because he didn't want to make his newly-appointed boyfriend Perry uncomfortable. Perry meanwhile was Very Much Interested in this so-called "rut season", and encourages Tibbs to cut loose. Live a little, babe! >:3 The thing about rut season though is that the more one gives in to their base impulses during rut, the stronger the impulses become. So when rut comes, Tibbs starts out as his usual quiet, reserved self, but if he does not quarantine from his stupid, seductive, indulgent catboi.....he inevitably undergoes a sharp change in demeanor. He's still quiet, still reserved...except now he's Extremely Blunt about what he wants to do (and is going to do) to Perry. He also becomes possessive and highly insatiable and his sense of shame evaporates, thus he longer sees any logical reason to not, let's say, fuck Perry into incoherence in barely-discreet semi-public locations- or hell, even in public locations. Rut!Tibbs doesn't care. He wants people to know that Perry is HIS. He will be very, very embarrassed once rut is over. Perry adores the constant attention of fully uninhibited Tibbs but is one worn-out cat afterward. He gets his revenge later on, as every spring he goes into heat. Heat!Perry swings wildly from sexually submissive and begging to sexually dominating and biting, and Tibbs is verrrrrrry flustered throughout all of it. Tibbs' rut takes place in late winter, while Perry goes into heat in spring. These phases have only ever coincided once, and THAT was very much a time where their B&B operations were disrupted. Wildly unprofessional behavior! Nobody in FB gets time off work for being horny, haha. But many jobs, particularly jobs worked by younger adults, give an unpaid spring break- as spring is the most common mating period across the animal kingdom. Heat/estrus gets treated with the same casual indifference our society gives periods/PMS (in that women and AFAB folk are expected to keep functioning as normal), with a dose of slut-shaming just for fun. However as FB is largely a patriarchal world, rut season is embraced. Many species embrace contact sports (wrestling, sparring, hoofball- anything to burn off the excess energy) during rut season, there are parties with loads of food and liquor, and of course males earn knowing guffaws and proud slaps on the back from their bros if they happen to knock up their wives/girlfriends. It's unlikely, but a judge (of the same species) might indeed laugh off someone headbutting a rival during rut.

Lopoddity

I was honestly wondering about rut season a little while ago when I was rereading some of the stuff on Tibbs' childhood. Mostly I was wondering how it affects his present, since I think we rarely see present day Tibbs less than composed, and I have to imagine it would disrupt the B&B's daily operations...though maybe it's just a welcome 2 week vacation. How does Fuzzbutts deal with these sort of seasons, btw? Is it more like, "Oh, man, spring is here and everyone is going nuts", or do certain species get like...exemptions with work, etc? What about species that didn't evolve with the same mating season? Are judges more understanding if you headbutt someone during the season?

I understood it as crochet bc i saw the hook instead of the dual knitting needles. Being new to crochet myself i didnt rlly notice the hand positioning was bullshitted jfhshdh and im super proud of my clown possum! it (and a rat pattern by the same creator) was the entire reason i threw myself into crochet. Meant to tentatively dip my toes in and only start with one yarn color, but upon progressing far enough to make the snout in one night, i knew i had to go back to walmart immediately the next day and get more colors and stuffing jdhfjg Nice to hear that he enjoys his craft so much :) and that it becomes a bonding activity with his daughter. My mom actually crochets, and has for years - she tried teaching it to me when i was a kid, but i never got past chain stitches. i wish i still lived closer to her so i could show her my clown possum in person!

AsTheJayFlies

Whats Tibbs crocheting?

mailebird

I am with Perry 100%. Breed yes, actual pregnancy no. I do plan on getting sterilized at some point because I do not want to have something inside me that has direct access to my blood and could literally kill me if something goes wrong at any point. Nuh uh. Not for me. *IF* I ever do want kids I plan on adopting older kids once they're independent and only semi-reliant on me. I can't handle babies or small children with. Everything that they are (Gross, loud, obnoxious, clingy germ factories) is the antithesis to my autistic brain. I will happily donate my eggs to anyone who wants them but I will not carry anything. Anyone who tries to make me can eat a cactus.

Amanda Stidham

oh yeah i understand that completely, its definitely hard out there. nothing wrong with wanting to escape The Horrors with a big boar and his goofy breedable-yet-technically-not-breedable husband! it really is mentally taxing, nothing wrong with wanting to look out for yourself! as for Tibbs' inability to be a true metalhead, perhaps Perry can do one half of the sign while Tibbs does the other, then they put them together and create the ultimate rockstar sign of the horns 🤔

gamigami

I’m looking into a bisalp as well!! I also have endo but when my grandma got a hysterectomy it very quickly gave her rather bad incontinence problems since the uterus helps hold a lot of other organs in place properly. So that (and the increased future dementia risk) deterred me from a full hysto. The surgeon I’ve had preliminary talks with said lots of her surgeries are bisalps but that she also removes as much overgrown endo tissue as she can while she’s in there :3

Shaylin A.

Probably the right call, being preggo seems like a nightmare and I imagine being preggo with a litter of boars would be a tad bit inconvenient

Bigsmile

Tibbs and Perry are able to successfully adopt a couple kids. Snickerdoodle is their first, and the only one they adopt as a newborn (she was conceived for a surrogate case that ended up falling through, thus the birth mother needed to find new adoptive parents quickly). They still have trouble with adoption centers, and are ultimately only introduced to "undesirable" children- kids with quirks or issues that make them unappealing to other prospective parents looking to adopt. Over the years they meet with several of said kids (and in one case, a teen), and end up adopting a couple of them. I haven't given a whooooole lot of thought to their other kids yet, but I think besides Snickerdoodle they'll end up with a nonverbal child, a moody "too old to be adopted" teenager, and something wacky like an alligator toddler with an aggressive biting habit. All of their kids are treasured and beloved and each one brings something new to their family.

SIBLINGS??? 👀👀👀 WHOMST?

Lammergayier

Oh no, it's fine! It's just that sometimes I doodle to escape the Actual Dystopian Nightmare that is the country I live in, so it's a little havahGGgf when said doodle triggers people to discuss their own experiences with AFAB healthcare, a hot button political topic of extreme relevance in the Actual Dystopian Nightmare that is the country I live in. AHHHHH. but y'know. What can ya do. Art is meant to inspire discussion, and I'm always happy to read everybody's thoughts and opinions and experiences, even if it's a wee bit anxiety-inducing in our current political climate. Anyway, thank you! I love drawing Tibbs' big pig hands but it makes me sad sometimes that he's a metalhead without enough fingers to do the heavy metal "sign of the horns" hand gesture 🤘🤘🤘

Lopoddity

Man I'm so glad you can tell he's crocheting cuz I straight bullshitted his hand positioning. XD I haven't done crochet since a single failed attempt years ago and I do nooooot remember how it works. I can knit and sew, but crochet is evil. >:( Good on you for completing a big project, though! Tibbs likes to make mostly practical stuff like hats, socks, and mittens (it can be tricky finding good mittens for giant 3-fingered hands). When they bring newborn Snickerdoodle home, he goes on a crocheting SPREE, foisting so, so many hats, booties, and baby blankets on their daughter. He also later crochets custom outfits for her dolls, and giant poofy sweaters he insists she wear outside whenever the temperature dips a single degree. Snickerdoodle inevitably learns to crochet as well (first project: a giant stuffed acorn) and it becomes a bonding ritual between her and her dad. And then a couple years down the line, she teaches it to her adopted siblings!

Lopoddity

my bad, i myself am going through the PMDD woes at the moment so i can't help but think about it LOL. but worry not, Tibbs grabbing that cat ass is not lost on me... the way you draw Tibb's cloven hooves is absolutely delightful to me every time, you really manage to keep the balance of them being piggy and realistically finger-like

gamigami

Handshake meme with Perry haha. As a transman I've always dreaded the thought of having kids and my periods always give me gender dysphoria never mind the fact that my cramps were legit a 7/8 on the pain scale so I'm def looking into some of the same options as Perry. Also I need to be knocked the fuck out for PAP smears so I really just want to say fuck my entire reproduction health system at some point. (Hope that's not too much info but I'm also open to talking about women's reproductive health since lord knows there's not nearly as much info out there as there is on men's reproductive health)

forthehonor-ofgayskull

That's terrible. :( I'm sorry to hear your mom had that experience, and that it certainly isn't an uncommon experience among women. All this talk about AFAB reproductive care (and lack thereof) is getting depressing, and isn't quite the discussion I hoped to inspire with my silly horny cat drawing, ha. Havahssghdf. Our society really does have a lot of contempt/mistrust toward people with uteruses

Lopoddity

perry really is just ‘pls breed? NO PREG! ONLY BREED’ also i love that tibbs is crocheting :) i just started learning a week ago and finished my first project (a stuffed clown possum) two nights ago. What does tibbs like to make?

AsTheJayFlies

storytime... my mom got her tubes tied AND a hysterectomy. even just to get her tubes tied, despite having more than enough children at the time, and autoimmune disorders that made her deteriorate more after each pregnancy, she STILL needed her husband's permission AND they made her physically write "yes" in marker on her OWN BODY where the ovaries were to confirm further that she wanted them tied. like bro what?? and later down the line she had to get a hysterectomy because she had fibroids the size of a tennis ball, and they STILL were like "ermmm are you sure? you sure you want a hysterectomy?" even though her tubes were already tied and she already had kids💀 luckily she was still able to get it but it ASTOUNDS me what lengths some people will go just to deny people health and comfort. she said at the time her insurance wouldnt have even covered the surgery if she DIDNT have kids and a husband, deeming it an "unnecessary" procedure. she technically didnt have a husband anymore but she was able to barely skirt by, which is tooootally something you want to be doing when there's a tumor inside of you lmfao. anyway good on you Perry LOL

gamigami

That's just the way gato wants it! And Tibbs too. Tibbs may be composed here (for now) but he's considerably less so during rut season. Left to their own devices these two freaks would populate like cells in mitosis. Tibbs loves babies but even he wouldn't be able to hold them all

Lopoddity

This is an incredible testimony, thank you for posting! Verrrrry reassuring and informative! I wanted to ask about your experiences but I didn't know if it'd be too personal, haha

Lopoddity

PS Not having your period anymore after lifelong debilitating cramps improves your quality of life to a degree you never thought was possible, cannot recommend it highly enough!

Calvin Sewell

Happy to share any useful info about my experience if it's helpful to any of y'all! I had my hysto done laparoscopically (with a robot!) and my recovery was very easy. I was up and about within a week and could do most things without issue, I was just forbidden from working out and lifting heavy objects. The incisions were so small they only needed surgical glue and healed very quickly. I had my fallopian tubes and uterus removed but kept my ovaries and cervix. That said I do have a friend who had hers done in NJ due to debilitating fibroids and she had a much more complicated procedure as her uterus was fused to her bladder by the fibroids, so her recovery was more challenging than mine. If anyone has access to healthcare in the NYC area, Dr. Ann Tran from Mt Sinai is a champion ❤️ incredibly caring and affirming provider.

Calvin Sewell

No preggos for gato, no matter the attempts

Bigsmile

Many doctors will be hesitant, a hysterectomy is a more invasive surgery (with a longer recovery time) than a bisalp or tubal litigation. Most people who get hysterectomies get it done for serious medical reasons, not usually as a means of sterilization. I have horrible endo and genuinely debilitating menstrual cramps (like the kind that make you vomit from pain), but my doc still shook her head at a hysterectomy and suggested I take daily birth control instead. >:/ This said, there are definitely doctors who would be willing to remove your uterus, you just have to do some research. There are plenty of people, young and old, who have managed to get the procedure. I was opting for a bisalp because I was intimidated by a hysterectomy's longer recovery time, but now I'm thinking maybe it's kinda silly to get sterilized and still have a monthly period. Maybe better to have the whole shebang removed

Lopoddity

The careless disregard the medical industry has for women and AFAB people’s very real and dangerous health conditions will never not infuriate me.

FloweryFruitFangs

this reminded me how bad I want a full hysterectomy, but I'm worried I'm too young to even be considered by doctors (23) 💔

Strix

🫂💕 That means so much to me, sincerely! Also, thank you, I'm very slowly getting there, it's been a hard few months but being back and being able to see my favorite creators again will make it a lot easier 🥰

mirarevias

I'm glad to have you back, and sorry to hear about your situation! I hope you feel better soon. 🩵

Lopoddity

My god, it's good to be back I've missed your art so much, Lop (I've been very sick and had to let my subs expire because I ran out of money). Ugh, I missed your work like an ache. Time to catch up

mirarevias

This is such a mood but all the doctors in my area give me the same old "You're just 24" or "Some women are just like that" line even though my periods have gotten to a point they will almost put me in the hospital because blood loss and pain 🫠

Fukōsagi

You're amazing thank you so much 😭❤️

CJ Strahd

Reddit keeps a pretty expansive list of physicians that will sterilize you with just your consent (meaning no handwringing about your husband/future potential children)

Lopoddity

Very jealous! I want a bisalp by the end of the year but I'd much prefer a hysterectomy. Endometriosis is a bitch and I'm never having kids, so I wouldn't mind yeeting my angry ass uterus straight in a dumpster

Lopoddity

I LOVE THEM SO MUCH AHH I wish I could follow in Perry's footsteps but I doubt they'd let me do so yet as I have 0 kids and no husband LMAO

CJ Strahd

My sweet Perry, I feel you so hard ❤️ I appreciate my hysterectomy every goddamn day - 1000/10 highly recommend
