As each box was opened, thick, syrupy rubber goo spilled out, shimmering like molten ink. Before anyone could react, the goo sprang to life, crawling up arms and legs, sealing fur and features beneath a glossy sheen. Guests gasped and struggled, but the goo was relentless, flowing with precision, reshaping bodies with an otherworldly purpose.
One by one, the other guests followed: wolves, cats, and rabbitsβall reformed into rubber deer, their unique fur patterns preserved but their autonomy erased.
The Santa Bear watched with silent satisfaction, the twinkle in his eye far from jolly. When the last guest succumbed, the room fell silent, save for the soft squeaks of rubber figures shifting in place.
The bear tipped his hat and turned to leave, his parting words chilling: "A herd for the holidays... and forever."
