The Princess and the Pauper
Added 2020-04-14 23:53:07 +0000 UTCYoung Novo once ran away from the luxuries and tedium of royal life. Instead of finding adventure, she found herself hopelessly lost, in a world that wasn't particularly kind to spoiled little hippogriff chicks.
Celestia is going about her chores one morning when she finds this strange birdy whatchamacallit hiding in her family's barn. As the illegal daughter of an earth pony farmer and a unicorn noble, Celestia is often frustrated with how the upper class mistreats the low born. Kind, humble, and with a strong sense of justice, Celestia vows to help Novo get back home, no matter how dangerous the journey.
Cue an Emperor's New Groove-style adventure between a teeny snob and a pony just trying to do the right thing.......and yes, along the way they do have a major fall-out where Tia calls Novo out on her shit and nearly abandons her out of frustration......leaving Novo angrily sniffling but too proud to call out after her. Of course Celestia does return at some point, probably in the nick of time to rescue Novo from one of the infinite monstrosities that prowl ancient Equestria, cuing a shouting match for making each other worry, and then soggy hugs, and the forging of a lifelong friendship.

2020-04-15 03:15:10 +0000 UTC:) Celestia and Luna aren't blood related, and they don't even meet until they're in their teens. I'm not certain if they take a vow of eternal sisterhood before or after ascending into alicorns. I imagine they went on a journey together to save Equestria by restoring the balance of the sun and moon. Equestria was hella chaotic back then, with tons of in-fighting and tribalism between the three pony races. Intermarriage was forbidden. Celestia's parents were foolish. Her unicorn parent cast aside their arranged marriage to be with a poor earth pony farmer (despite their lover's protests), and was ejected from their noble family to live in disgrace among the rural ponies. Celestia's parents may be brow-beaten and worked to the bone, but despite the scandal that surrounds them they are very much in love. They taught Celestia that good things come from different ponies coming together in harmony. Someday, when Celestia becomes the sun princess, one of the first things she does is officiate an official, legal wedding ceremony for her parents.

She certainly inherited her father's modesty and humble nature, and her mother's wise and noble demeanor. And to top it off, I love The Emperor's New Groove. I think a Celestia-Novo spinoff would be a lot of fun :)
