As of this morning, KDP has terminated my account. They claim that content of my books was made freely available on the web.
You can see the email they sent in the image attached above. The first chapter for some of these books was made available on my Wattpad as a sample to advertise my books, but the fist chapter for A Most Unlikely Hero 6 and 7 are not available on Wattpad, so it is unlikely that is the case. The most likely scenario is someone stole the books on Kindle and posted the content online.
I have always made my books DRM free. I want people to read my stories, and if they feel more comfortable using other devices, I wanted to make it so they could do that. It looks like someone took advantage of this to post my books online. I don't know where my stories were made available on the internet. I didn't even know about this until Kindle emailed me to say my account was terminated. However, my account is now gone and I don't know if I can get it back.
I'm currently trying my hardest to contact KDP with all the relevant information I have so I can get my account up and running again, but it could be anwhere from 48 to 72 hours before the situation is resolved - if it gets resolved at all.
If anyone would like to help, please share this news on any social media platforms you have. Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, etc. I think we need to spread awareness about what Amazon is doing right now. In the meantime, I am calling and emailing Amazon to see what can be done. I know it's a lot to ask, and I am so sorry for this, but I hope you can all be patient while I try to fix this.
