Patreon Changes for 2020
Added 2019-12-30 01:48:30 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
We're almost two days away from January 1st, 2020, and I've been really struggling with some of the changes I'm thinking about making for my Patreon.
I realized around November that I have been overextending myself. I wanted to give patrons a lot of rewards they couldn't get anywhere else, but I didn't understand how difficult some of those rewards would be to deliver.
On November, I was unable to send signed paperback copies to Alien and Kitsune Patrons, which felt like a massive failing to me. Even now, Arcadia's Ignoble Knight: The Lich King still hasn't been shipped to me, so I can't even begin signing them, much less shipping them to my patrons. This personal failing of mine has caused me to lose a lot of sleep. I know some people might not think it's a big deal, but I have always prided myself on making good on my promises, and I failed to deliver on the promise of sending signed monthly copies of my books.
It normally takes 3 weeks to produce a paperback. You have to upload your manuscript, have your publisher approve it, order a proofed copy, and then approve it yourself, before ordering however many copies you need to ship and sign. The more copies you order, the longer it takes. Sometimes, you might have to redo your manuscript's formatting because something was wrong with it or you made a mistake that caused words/images to bleed off the page. After everything is said and done, it takes a lot more work to publish on paperback than it does on Kindle... which takes just 24 hours as opposed to 3 weeks.
Because of how much stress this has caused and because I don't think I can deliver signed paperbacks every month, I've changed the Alien and Kitsune tiers' rewards.
I hope everyone understands why I am doing this. I will understand if you decide to no longer remain a member of my patron because of this. I cannot apologize enough for the inconvenience this may have caused everyone.
For those of you who stick around even with the changes, thank you very much. I hope the rewards I offer now will be more manageable and something I can truly deliver each month, and that you ladies and gents will enjoy the rewards offered.
Please be sure to check the rewards and make sure they are something you are okay with. If you are a Kitsune tier patron, you should have gotten a message because I had to delete and recreate the Kitsune tier since I lowered the price from $50 to $35.

You're still subscribed. You just have to change what you're paying from $50 to Kitsune tier.

2019-12-30 16:33:45 +0000 UTCI'm glad you like my work. I'll keep working hard!
2019-12-30 16:14:41 +0000 UTCI appreciate that. Thank you. :-)
2019-12-30 16:14:29 +0000 UTCDespite not being able to afford a monthly subscription at this point, I'll say I'm sure that people will still want to join your patreon to support such a great author. I would go for it if I had the cash you know? It Probably sounds strange this way, but my credit card is always at max because of my financial situation, so I can't do reoccurring payments on it. I still file this page and reccomend it to my friends every chance I get!
