1st December Announcement

It's the beginning of December, the month of Padouru Padouru, and I have a few announcements to make.

WIEDERGEBURT: Legend of the Reincarnated Warrior volume 1 will be released for kindle and paperback on December 3rd. Patrons who have signed up for Yuki-Onna tier and above will receive the kindle version a day in advance. I hope you all enjoy reading the first volume with all the kick ass and sexy illustrations inside.

Alien and Kitsune patrons may have noticed that I was unable to deliver paperbacks this month. The artwork for Arcadia's Ignoble Knight: The Lich King Part I arrived really late. It takes a few weeks for the paperbacks to go through the approval process, so they are not ready yet. I currently have a proofed copy in route. However, it will take a long time to get here, which means it may take even longer until I can order copies for everyone. I will hopefully be able to order and ship copies this month, which means you may be getting two paperback books for December.

On a plus note, I DO have the copies for WIEDERGEBURT: Legend of the Reincarnated Warrior Volume 1, which I will be shipping out on Monday.

I've been thinking a lot about my Patreon and what I'd like to starting next year, and I believe there may be some changes to the rewards.

To start, I am thinking of removing the Kitsune tier and changing the Alien tier to make it more manageable. There are three major reasons for this:

1. There have been several times where I was almost late in sending out paperbacks, and last month I was actually unable to ship out signed copies. I firmly believe that a suitable reward should be handed out each month, but I was not able to deliver last month, which is something I am greatly ashamed by. Because it looks like I might not be able to send signed paperbacks monthly, I do not believe it makes a suitable reward.

2. The stress of publishing one book every month has been building up and causing me to lose a lot of sleep. It's hard to work when you are pressuring yourself to consistently delivering content that isn't always ready. The amount of stress that's been piling up has been causing me to feel burnt out, and I'm worried this may affect my creativity and ability to write.

3. I want to focus more on quality and less on quantity. Recently, I've been feeling pressured to put out more content in order to keep up with demand. I feel like this has affected my writing, making it worse instead of better and lowering the quality of my stories. I want to write great stories that do more than just entertain. I want to write stories that will leave a lasting impression on everyone, and I don't think I can do that if I am worried about pumping out a book a month.

I'm thinking the new Patreon Rewards will look something like this:

Human: Read 2 new chapters every week. Early access to sketches, cover reveals, and character sheets.

Yuki-Onna: All previous tier rewards. Read 1 chapter ahead of current Patreon story. Digital copies of any newly published books.

Nekomata: Acess to previous tier rewards. Read 2 chapters ahead of current Patreon story. Access to SFW version of the American Kitsune manga.

Succubus: Access to previous tier rewards. Read 3 chapters ahead of current Patreon story. Access to NSFW version of the American Kitsune manga. SFW digital artwork from commissioned artist.

Alien: Access to previous tier rewards. Read 4 chapters ahead of current Patreon story. NSFW digital artwork from commissioned artist.

As you can see, the first four tiers don't really change, but the last one has a huge change and the Kitsune tier is gone.

If any of you have any ideas or suggestions regarding Patreon rewards and tiers, please be sure to let me know in the comments.

I agree. I would rather wait 12 weeks for a high quality story than knowing the author is stressing out and losing the joy he has in writing. Do what feels best. I will be here regardless

I'm thinking of worrying less about when I release a book and more about writing quality stories people will enjoy and remember for years to come.

Dealing with the publishing, order, signing, and shipping of paperbacks is probably the most stressful part of my Patreon right now... especially since I'm always worrying about whether I'll be able to deliver on time.

I imagine at least getting rid of having to deal with physical goods should free up some of the stress. As much as some people like having physical things the logistics behind it are much higher than with digital.

A few authors I know ( and follow ), have found that a 4 week book release, can be stressful, but have found that a 6 week release rotation is much less stressful, yet still provides a schedule that keeps readers interested.
