Arcadia's Ignoble Knight 6 WIP Cover

Even though Arcadia's Ignoble Knight vol. 5 isn't out yet, Claparo is already working on the cover for volume 6.

I'm not sure how many of volumes I'll make of this series. I have enough content for 11-13, but it doesn't seem very popular. I'll try to keep going until I start losing money. Here's to hoping I don't have to ax the series.

It costs a lot. Copy editors are between $1,000 and $2,000 depending on the book length. Covers cost about $500 and the BnW are is around $1,000 to $2,000 (for all the illustrations) depending on the artist. Proofreaders are the cheapest, but even they cost about $200-400. It adds up. This is why sales and reviews are so important. Sales are what allows me to pay for the next book, and books with a lot of reviews on Amazon get more sales because people think, "Wow! Look at how many people like this book! I should buy it and see what's so great about it for myself!" Amazon also has an algorithm where books with more reviews are advertised to readers more often.

Wow I did not realize it was that much. Thank you so much for taking this risk, every time you publish a book.

It costs between $3,000 and $4,000 to create one volume. This includes the cost for artists, copy editors, and proofreaders. I have to at least make this much back, or I lose money. I hope I can continue the series too. I love writing it.

While I can't say this series is my favorite, because I am very partial to the A Fox Tail series. But I still enjoyed this series. While I would hate to see it get the ax. I also understand that this is your lively hood. I hope you get to continue the series, because I enjoyed reading it. I will be the first to admit that I have no clue what the cost is to you to publish a book. No clue as to where the break even point is. But also fully understand what your saying.

I'm not sure, but Journey of a Betrayed Hero vol. 1 and A Fox's Alliance sold a lot of pre orders, so I think it might just be a case of Arcadia's Ignoble Knight not being very popular. Grammarly is okay, but it can't beat a copy editor since it doesn't know how to edit content based on the Chicago style of editing that's the standard among published books.

I wonder how much of that is Amazon's fault. I follow your Author page on Amazon but it was only 2 days ago I got a notification saying you had just released Journey of a Betrayed Hero. As to editing and cover... that is a dilemma. Stuff like Grammarly is pretty good but I doubt it beats an actual editor.

Maybe, but the problem is whether or not I make enough sales to even pay for the editing and cover. There's no guarantee yet that this story will be unsuccessful. I'm currently basing this off the pre orders. While all my other books have had a high volume of pre orders, this one has not.

Looks "stylish" lol

Artwork looks good. Can't wait to see the finished cover. As to the volume length and losing money... I know it would be kind of sad but could some of the series that don't do as well skip the artwork? I know you are going for English LNs but if it saves enough money for you to not waste work and make some money on them maybe it might be an option.

It'll become more sword like when Claparo finishes.

It looks like he's holding a dustpan in his right hand

It sells the least out of all my series. I just barely made enough to cover the cost of publishing the last book. If volume 5 doesn't do well, I'll likely have to cut the series around volume 7.

But its such a good series how could it be not going well?
