Resource Weds: Super simple form
Added 2015-12-09 20:55:03 +0000 UTCI made this to show a site artist where they may be going astray and though it's very basic I thought I'd share it here, too. I see a lot of people going from cell shading to 'realistic' painting and what they get looks something like on the right there. To fully render an object you need gradation. Even if said object is made up of flat planes, gradations are involved because of the way light sources behave.
You absolutely don't NEED a blurring brush to do this at all, but it's helps enormously with speed. I made this example in about two minutes and it would have taken me much longer if I had to pick over the shapes with a variety of 'paint' brushes.
