A explanation for the delays.

Sorry for the delay in postings.

The fact is I have the one problem every writer who tries to focus dreads. I have been put in a position where I have to write in small short spans. I can no longer sit down for hours to work over a chapter. I write a paragraph then have to stop, and come back hours later to write another. This leads to fragmented chapters I am never happy with, and a loss of focus as I forget where I wanted to go with a particular story.

As many of you know I have been dealing with medical issues for almost a year now. In all that time I have been applying for medical aid in the form of insurance, disability, food stamps etc. This has produced a never ending mountain of paperwork and deadlines and requests for information. I have manged to get both insurance and food stamps but disability still doesn’t believe I am sick. Thus I haven’t been paid a dime since April.

The amount of time I am spending collecting the massive amounts of information they want is becoming a job all its own. I also have to answer several phone calls a day from various services to ensure things are being done on schedule, or appointments are made, or to verify I don’t have the plague that’s going around.

Added to this I have a medical appointment five days a week. It takes just over an hour to get there, then wait to be seen, then treated, then just over an hour back assuming I am not asked to stay to consult with a doctor. So I am gone from home for three to four hours every day. When I am home I also have to take care of my disabled wife. This includes all the household chores like dishes, laundry, cleaning, shopping, paying the bills, etc. Of course I also have to spend some quality time with her and under the circumstances she is rather needy.

As if this wasn’t enough I am having computer problems. I frequently have trouble booting and have to run startup repair, or do manual things like chkdsk /f to restore my ability to boot. Sometimes it works and I can boot within an hour. Sometimes it doesn’t work so well and I have to spend more time. I am also having an issue where the computer fails to power up when I push the button. This is usually remedied by pulling the power cables from the motherboard, counting to ten, then putting them back on. However, recently this hasn’t always worked the first time.

To cut this short, my writing day has been reduced to a few hours in which I am constantly interrupted to answer phone calls, computer problems, or take care of my wife. I hate working like this and it shows in the chapters where I change tone from one paragraph to another. This is because I had to walk away from it and came back two hours later in a completely different mindset.

I would like to apologize for this and let you all know I am going to build a new computer to at least solve one of my problems. I will try to speak more so my patreons have more information as things change, but suffice to say I am struggling to keep up.
