Added 2025-11-02 02:35:48 +0000 UTCI switched to DaVinci Resolve for this one, and I'll be using Affinity for images going forward. I had some problems with Resolve the last time I tried it, but I'll get over it, because Adobe has been annoying me too much. Hope you had a fun Halloween. I don't have my calendar right here, but I think this is the one that would've been posted here Sep 21. So far catch-up hasn't been that fast as far as posts, but things are coming along behind the scenes.

I already knew (from computer science, no less) that all statements about elements of an empty set are true, but never knew this principle has a name. In your example "every hat in this room" is the set. It is an empty set, because there are no hats in the room. Then any statement ("they are red", or "they are not red") about the elements of the set (each hat in the room) is true.
