I always forget how much I hate Scott. He's the reporter that clearly made up the story about the kid in the wheelchair. When he was at the stadium he couldn't find an interesting subject for his story about the first Orioles game of the season and we never see him talking to anybody in a wheelchair. There's nothing more annoying to me than someone that wants to be seen as a brilliant writer, some kind of rare genius that always words things in the perfect way.

2025-05-09 20:24:39 +0000 UTCIt's a weird one: the media faction to this season is probably the weakest new introduction - the most new stuff all at once since the S2 ports, but not as immediately central to the plot and more just exploring news media. And I think since David Simon and many of the other writers are journalists, a lot of the observations can feel a bit self-satisfied, especially some of the copy corrections scenes in these early episodes. But man, everything this season does with this faction of the story is still so horribly relevant today, like it feels like a handbook of all the ways news media has completely caved in on itself, and why it's happened.
