HBO max version took out about 10 minutes of very useful and interesting footage that really helps give a better understanding(i also think Zack Snyder and James Gunn were trying to cover there own ass, because there is very unpopular words spoken by that preacher scene they took out) its unfortunate, i had to keep re syncing ,but that was fine it was easy.. But yes HBOmax took out the preacher end of times speech on TV and a few other character development scenes and even a few fight scenes. Anywhoo just incase others have issues just letting ya know HBO did indeed remove about 10 minutes. Loved your review as always, you have really been such a great friend to watch with. - In fact they purely only removed all talk of religion, all homophobic comments and all talk of spiritual plus light hearted moments, because they were near homophobic-ish dialog. I think since Zack Snyder and James Gunn have there hands all over this movie and HBOmax owns it for now, they white washed this movie by taking out 10-15 minutes of offensive dialog. tsk tsk tsk. anyway... with that all said this movie was terrible. i mean not the worst thing ever, but really dissapointed to see all the homophobia(that they tried to hide) and also expect better from two giants like James Gunn and Zack Snyder.
