Larpos are a gentle mammalian species. They are slow, bumbling wanderers who travel around on their four legs, each one equipped with a three-toed foot. Their backs are large and humped, covered in lime green hair that grows long and hangs down their sides. This green hair can also be found on a larpo’s head, and has a stark contrast with the rest of their dull yellow fur. Larpos have large, long ears and wide eyes that glow with a faint white light. Their most notable feature is their enormous pink tongue, which is constantly hanging out from a larpo’s mouth.
Larpos enjoy tasting their environment, roaming around and finding new, exciting things to lick. They are known to spend hours lapping away at various objects in their native rural setting that humans would find distasteful, like rocks, bark or metal fences. Larpos, however, have a very sophisticated palette, capable of tasting entire hues and tones of the flavor spectrum that we have no awareness of.
Surprisingly, Larpos eat only the blandest of foods, with a diet that draws most of its nutrients from dirt and pebbles. They consume these meals in a utilitarian manner, simply providing them with enough energy to bumble off and find more things to lick. The creatures have a strict divide between tasting for exploration and the taste that happens to accompany a meal.
Larpo timeline preserves will offer them a variety of different flavors, from ice cream to spicy hot wings.
