Puports are a species that varies greatly in appearance, encompassing hundreds of different breeds and combinations of features with a diversity that mirrors what we see in the domestic dogs of our timeline. Puports are often similar to a cartoonish version of natural animals, but can also appear as silly monsters or humans with exaggerated features.

There are a few similarities across these puport variations, however. As one might expect based on their name, Puports appear visually quite similar to puppets. Their skin has a distinct felt-like quality, and their faces are often large and simplistic, showing little movement other than their darting pupils and a singular hinged jaw. They have two arms that are unusually long a thin, and they never have legs.

The bottom half of a puport features a large opening, which is wet and sticky inside. This orifice has a specific curled lip along its edge and, unlike the felt sections of this creature, this lip is distinctly biological. Strangely, the large hole at the bottom of puports is used in the same way you would control a puppet, which is why it’s so important to the creature’s existence.

While many creatures from other timelines use their powers of deception to form symbiotic relationships with the humans of this reality, puports take a different approach. These creatures are highly intelligent, talkative and funny. They do not consume food, but instead drain a slight amount of energy from the creature who’s hand rests within their central orifice. They do this simply by being a “great hang.”

Instead of lying or manipulating, puports are direct and realistic, explaining what they need to survive and being so cool about it that most people are happy to oblige. They have had little trouble integrating into our reality thanks to their incredibly chill attitude and general good vibes.
