(Timeline Tuesday #113)
Swaths are enormous, towering creatures from a distant timeline. They possess natural animal intelligence, and are quite gentle. They often exhibit curious personalities, similar to the temperament of a natural cow. Swaths stand at approximately 7 to 8 stories tall, carrying themselves on two thick legs. These legs lead to a large, fur-covered body that is oval in shape, as well as a round head attached to the front. While this head sports a nose and ears, these organs are much too small to see without close inspection. However, what are visible are the creatureβs enormous yellow eyes, which shine in the dark and make a swathβs presence known for miles and miles at night. Swaths have a small mouth tucked under their head, and from this mouth a mass of writhing tentacles hang. These tenacles dangle all the way down to the ground. Swaths are colorful creatures, their body showing off various shades of purple.
Swaths are natural wanderers. They spend most of their time moseying around, hunting for sustenance in the form of grass, live shrubbery or tree leaves. As expected based on their size, Swaths require an incredible amount of natural vegetation to sustain themselves and remain healthy, which makes them something of a nuisance on most timelines.
Despite their adorable demeanor, any swath that wanders onto this reality is quickly wrangled and directed to a safe area. Timeline scientists will then get to work sending swaths off to another location where they can freely consume vegetation. If not for this procedure, a single herd of swaths could do catastrophic damage to our environment.
Swaths naturally move between timelines with the help of a biological failsafe. When they get too hungry and sick, an organ within their chest will begin secreting a biological timeline hormone. As this secretion research a certain level, the swath will be blasted into a nearby timeline with the hope that this new reality will provide more food.
