Bloodletters are large, sentient alphabet letters manifested in a variety of hues. Their coloration is typically vibrant, and always completely uniform across their body. The base of a bloodletter will feature two feet, with very little in the way of legs. This makes the creatures particularly slow, forced to skuttle around using quick, tiny steps. Bloodletters also feature two eyes, a pair of nostrils, and a mouth. Their skin is soft and semi-furry, feeling as though it’s constructed with fabric in the way that one might make a puppet.

The most noticeable—and dangerous—feature of bloodletters is their enormous fangs, but these are rarely visible as bloodletters typically keep them retracted until they are about to strike.

It is believed these creatures originally hail for a children’s-show-based timeline, a layer of reality that closely resembles what we think of as educational programming. They resemble friendly puppets that might appear on one these shows, but their nature is much more sinister.

Bloodletters cannot speak, but their cute and cuddly demeanor allows them to enter most spaces unbothered. By the light of day, they are typically calm and collection, preferring to not give away their true intentions. At night, however, they hunt.

This species feeds on blood. Their bite will immediately inject toxins into their prey, causing the target to lose consciousness. At this point, bloodletters are free to drink their fill. Fortunately, and despite their appearance, bloodletters will only hunt full grown adults. This is because adult targets are much larger, and therefore provide more blood for the creatures.

It is not the intent of a bloodletter to kill their prey, but they can often get overzealous while consuming blood. Approximately twenty percent of bloodletter victims will pass away from blood loss, while the others will wake up feeling graving ill and require immediate medical attention.
