HANDELLO - TIMELINE #55462201

(Timeline Tuesday #75)

Handellos are humanoid creatures standing anywhere between four and six feet tall. They have dull mustard-yellow skin, which is smooth and leathery, and their frame features seven limbs. Handellos walk around on a pair of legs, but there are four arm appendages sprouting from the creature’s torso. The final appendage is a Handello’s long, muscular tail. All seven of these limbs ends in a powerful, three-fingered hand. The head of these creatures is large and bulbous, with stark white eyes and a set of sharp teeth.

Handellos live in natural, semi-wild areas that also happen to be frequented by large amounts of people. City parks are a favorite of this species, but they’ve also been known to prowl the edge of towns or near stops along major interstates.

These creatures are excellent climbers, thanks in part to their large number of limbs and natural dexterity. Handellos are rarely on the ground, preferring instead to silently creep from tree to tree and hide themselves within the foliage.

Despite their frightening appearance, these creatures are scavengers and do not attack humans with the purpose of consuming their flesh. They are, however, still a terrible nuisance. The main survival tactic of Handellos is to pickpocket or simply snatch away food that’s gripped in their target’s hand. The creatures will leap down from above in a mass of flailing limbs, swatting and slapping their prey or simply waving their hands wildly in the air as a distraction. Meanwhile, a single appendage will reach out and take the food they’re targeting for, at which point the Handello will bound away.

Handellos live in nests, similar in construction to a bird’s nest but much, much larger. When a home of these pests is found and dismantled, it is always littered with the discarded plastic packaging of various snack products.
