Gambalurches are a green-skinned humanoid species from a nearby timeline of existence. Despite their slightly reptilian appearance and coloration, gambalurches are mammals, typically sporting a head of dark hair and sometimes bald. The posture of these creatures is constantly hunched, but they’re supported by a pair of unusually long arms that provide gambalurches a four-footed movement pattern. When gambalurches walk or run, they swing their entire bodies in a gallop-like movement. Another physical difference between this species and homosapiens are their distinct hind legs, which feature a backwards joint structure like that of a canine.

Gambalurches speak in a slow, distinct cadence, and their voices are typically much lower than a human. However, their grasp of language is quite good, and a typically gamablurch will be fluent in three or four languages from this timeline, in addition to their own native tongue. Unsurprisingly, this species is known for their traveling.

However, getting to know the cultures of the world is not the motivation of a gambalurch on the move. These creatures are avid gamblers, and typically choose destinations where casinos are prominent. On this timeline, the majority of gambalurches reside in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In gambalurch society, games of chance are given an enormous cultural significance. Most major decisions are sorted through the roll of a die or the flip of a coin, from the gambalurch judicial system to their religious traditions. In fact, practicing gambalurches are required to have two dice on them at all times, which they hold in a ceremonial pouch upon their hip. The creatures use their distinct, two-fingered hands to roll, scooping up the die with a thin webbing and making their throws.
