Animation: Tonda using the jump rope -nude

Hey everyone!

This week I’ve done some animation for Tonda; one of the stranded wrestlers that was picked up by the Green Beetle.

The story so far told us that the wrestlers needed to keep up their strength by exercising. And in the upcoming update, Keen will provide them with some exercise equipment for that. Now one of the things Tonda asked for, was a jump rope -which she will use herself. And so I made an animation for that!

And below you can see a few steps of how I did that.

Step 1

As a start,  I first drew the pose for frame 3, which is the middle frame of the animation. Then I cut that image up in parts, and copied it around to create a basic jumping loop of 6 frames.

Now as you can see below, I animated Tonda while being nude.  However, in game she will be wearing her suit at first.  But I didn't animate her with her suit here, because it's easier to start with the nude version, and add clothes over it- then doing it the other way around.


Step 2

Here I cleaned up the 6 farmes, and added some more refined motion to her hair, boobs and legs.



Step 3

And in the final  step I added the jump rope.

And here I  also doubled the frames from 6 to 12. These extra 6 frames not only made the  animation smoother, but  will also allow me  to play it in slow motion in slowmotion!


Next

(updated:) In the animation above the rope has a bit of an odd timing, as BMLH correctly noticed in the comment :)  So I'll dive back into that & fix it!

And to wrap things up,  I’m also thinking about giving keen a stopwatch to time Tonda while jumping. We would then see keens hand quite big in the corner of the screen. And this  effectively allows you to adjust the speed of these sporting animations by a simple click on it’s buttons :)

Haha, well spotted Alfie! I guess most people are distracted by another part of the animation :) But I didn't animate that part, because in game you won't see it. In the images above you see a transparent screenshot in the background. That determines where the animation will be cut off. And not animating the shoes of course saved me a lot of time :)

Thank you BMLH :) And I'm glad you mention it, I also felt that the rope was changing the animation in a bit of a weird way..but I was unsure if I saw it correctly. I'll dive back into it monday, and see if I can fix it by changing it's timing. And I really do appreciate this feedback; for it's hard to see mistakes in something after staring at it for 3 days :) So thank you for thinking along & being part of this journey! Tonda is looking really good so far, great work! It took me awhile to realize that the Patreon mobile app can't load animated gifs so I had to use the browser to see Tonda in motion. I love that you added motion to the fat on her thighs at the top of the jump arc, an amazing detail and one that I really appreciate! My one comment is that when the jump rope is added to the animation, it seems like it's out of sync with Tonda's jumping and that she's tripping over it instead of being in the air already as the rope passes under her. One or two frames out of sync, if that makes sense. Happy New Year, Robin! Your updates are always so well thought out and put together, and I thoroughly enjoy being on this journey with you and everyone else here. Here's to another year of Space Rescue! 🥂🎉
