The First Demo Is Ready!

Hello!

The first demo of 'Space Rescue Code Pink' is finally done!

DOWNLOAD 1

What to expect from the Demo?

Well there is a - ahem - fair warning of sorts. Because  what you will play is just a singe storyline, without any gameplay or interaction with other storylines. This is for the simple reason that I have to start somewhere :) I personally see it as an 'art & storyline' test; and focussing on that aspect, was also the best way for me to get familliar with the game engine.

So, you will probably feel that you are going through a Visual Novel, rather then an Adventure Game. But, no worries that will hopefully change in one of the next updates....it just takes time :)

Finally, the current storyline is incomplete; I have a lot more prepared, but I just ran out of time trying to put it in the game.  But I'll complete it in the next update :)

Enjoy!

Well, I hope you will enjoy the demo game so far! Please let me know your thoughts, by leaving a comment here on Patreon :)  Also,  And if things turn out to be broken, let me know and then I'll fix it in the next update.

Till next time!

Kind regards

Robin

Wont let me download...

Thanks for the compliments Jessie! I'm glad to hear the demo matched your expectations :) I'm already working to complete this storyline, so You'll be able to play more soon!

Robin

For now it's PC only (mainly because I cannot test the game on a Mac myself) The mobile version requires adjusted art-assets, so that's also for later. But when I produced a more complete demo, I will also release it for other platforms then PC (and I will then mention it on the main page, which now says it's PC only).

Robin

Just finished playing through the demo. The art work is so good! I thought I had an idea of what to expect from screenshots, but wow. Definitely looking forward to seeing more.

Will this work on mobile or Mac, or is it PC only?

Hey Dominic! Thanks for the kind words & your feedback, it's much appriciated :) And you are right, we are skipping quite a few gameplay situations now (like collecting astroids & building things); but getting that gameplay up and running is complex compared to setting up a story like this. But I will add that along the way. The same goes for the map, I totally agree with your vision of how it should work & I'll certainly upgrade it soon. But again...it's quite tricky to get it really working. And there is no excuse for the spelling errors... I just have have to test it more before I send it out in the world :) I'll do my best to improve the game as much as I during the next updates. Anyway, thank you so much for your feedback! -Robin

So I've just finished the demo and first of all, the art is incredible! It is by far the best aspect of the game so far. The level of detail with some of the backgrounds is really good, it looks like you spent a lot of time on the art and the end result is amazing! Throughout the demo I noticed a few spelling errors, and some grammatical errors, but that's nothing major. I understand that this was only a demo but I'm guessing some of the smaller tasks which we saw in the demo will actually need to be completed in later versions. By this I mean collecting the asteroids, or getting the holo mags, so the player will actually have to go to these areas and perform the tasks, rather than just saying they've done it on a black screen. Also one more critique, I think the map on these types of games is such a critical part of the game, and right now I think the map could use some improvement. Currently it's a picture of the spaceship and you have to click to get the different room options to show. I was thinking maybe you could spice it up a bit and have each room be it's own button and it would highlight when hovered over and provide a label of the room. For example hovering over Lune's room would have a gold outline around it and "Lune's Room" would appear above the room. Overall the demo was awesome and fun to play. I can't wait to see more of the game!

Thanks! :)

Robin

Thanks Mochi! I found some more matching music, I hope I can add that as well in the next update :)

Robin

I'm glad to hear you like her Danny & I also love to add the rest of the gameplay :) I'm on it!

Robin

Thank you & thanks for the feedback John -I see it too. However, if you are in the game and press escape, then the menu background loads correctly. I'll have a look and see why that goes wrong at the start...

Robin

Good rough draft of the project, the art was the best aspect to the demo; the only problem I had was the UI on the main menu. I had a problem when clicking other sections that were not the "start" option. The "Space Rescue: Code Pink" Logo would still be stuck on the background while the text for the other sections, such as help, preferences, about, etc, would on the foreground. Mixing those two makes the foreground text harder to see. Other than that, everything else was good for now

Lune is so charming. Really good proof of concept and I'm looking forward to the point and click aspects of it.

Danny Mac

Just finished playing the demo. Really like the art and music, excited for more!

Mochi

Very excited!
