Friday Watch Day
Added 2024-10-04 13:52:08 +0000 UTCIt’s been over 90 degrees (35 for our Celsius friends…aka the rest of the world) on the Central California coast. We have no aircon and I’m not ensuring stoically. I’m complaining loudly and often. I’m also complaining about The On1y One. This is an angst ridden yearning heavy Taiwanese BL that ended without a second season set up and reallllly needed one. I haven’t felt so much rage for an ending since My Demon lol. So I’m starting No Gain, No Love so we can deep dive it for pod!

Yikes – is it Monday already? I’ve been traveling and will be house-sitting in St. Paul for a week; exploring the Twin Cities during the day and catching up on k-dramas at night. The season finale of LND is at the top of my list. I’m not completely bowled over by the story, but I love the leads. Based on recs here I’ll probably start No Gain No Love and Spice Up Our Love. Leading up to my trip I did veer into non-kdrama territory with Nobody Wants This. I loved it and agree with Cate’s comments that it seemed to have some kdrama inspiration (except that it sets you up for a sequel and kdramas have taught me that I love a solid finale).

2024-10-07 12:00:06 +0000 UTCI’m late to the party this week. Happy weekend, everyone! Hope it cools for for California folks. Finished No Gain No Love - thoughts in the chat. The subplots fizzled, but this is still one of my favorite romcoms. Like Atypical Family, it was an unexpected surprise. Currently watching Cheat On Me If You Can - still enjoying this one. The mystery element is well done so far. The FL reminds me of the ML in Stranger crossed with Austen’s Emma. She’s intelligent, logical, and seems unemotional. She doesn’t hesitate to interfere with other people’s lives because she thinks she’s knows the what’s best. Looking forward to the final of LND!
