Weekend Watch
Added 2023-03-11 00:01:30 +0000 UTCWhat is everyone watching this weekend. We have just had our third atmospheric river of the year drench us and that is an apt metaphor as I’m currently drowning in dramas.
This weekend I have The Glory 2, Just Between Lovers, and Reborn Rich to roll around in. And I have to watch Mr. Heart—a sweet looking Korean BL. Plus I have been meaning to watch Decision to Leave forever. So can I just curl up in a vault? No! But will I download stuff and watch during my son’s double header water polo meet? Yes! Don’t @ me….he loves the game and I love it for him. But it’s super confusing for me to follow … plus I’m driving him an hour to the games so cut me some slack lol.
Are you drowning in drama or treading water just fine?

I also feel like CCIR let me down in the wash up. There were some bits I absolutely loved, but the writers overplotted the last quarter and whilst it was a sweet ending I think it could have been much better by sticking to main leads storyline. I get that it's meant to be an indictment of the pressure and expectation on the kids via the education system, but a couple less subplots would have made it stronger (IMO). Also didn't like the brother / friend thing and think Hang Seong (FL) would have had issues with that too. Would have liked to have seen other options for those 2 characters.

2023-03-12 20:30:16 +0000 UTCI finished up CCIR, it ultimately left me with a smile on my face but man, it’s a flawed drama. I wrote a rant on my Instagram wall 😂 Still on Our Blooming Youth, still enjoying but I’m getting bad second male lead syndrome and asking myself why this so often happens for historicals (Mr Queen, Kings Affection). The romance is sooo slow burn I need it to kick up a notch. Taxi Driver 2 am still loving, any stories with kids in just gut me. But ugh same guy in CCIR playing same role? I won’t expand more but IYKYK Finished Not Me, my first Thai BL! I really liked all the Off/gun scenes was not really into the rest but the scenes of leads were sooo good. Will do more Thai BL Started Dr Romantic, aiming to see both S1 and S2 before S3 airs in April to see what the big deal is. Love both Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin so its not a tough ask though as its 2016 it’s quite cheesy, corny and tropey but I like so far!
