Summer Strike

Lia brought up Summer Strike by saying it's a small town romance, and Im Siwan plays an introverted librarian.

SOLD.

Then I binged it in two days. This drama was so so delightful. It's like When the Camellia Blooms but with a tighter plot at 12 episodes. Small town romance with a murder mystery. Heroine leaves Seoul to find happiness and settles in a seaside town where she meets a sweet librarian with hidden trauma.

This drama was sweet (very chaste, which is fine), and gave me a lot of big feels and thinky thoughts about what happiness is and what it means to be fulfilled. Is a sufficient life enough?

Highly rec this drama. It's on Netflix US and it's a fast watch.

Saw the first episode and I already love it (partially because of the visuals and OST). I was so angry about how the manager treated the FL. I legit wrote a fanfic scene in my head where someone came and smashed that guy's stupid coffee mug. Maybe he reminded me of a really bad boss or something, IDK...

Finished it last night. It was sweet! I liked how it ended. However, this was clearly a drama that called for characters to be in therapy. How much trauma can one family take?
